My computer worked fine on Saturday, but on Sunday, it went crazy -____- I turn it on and it suddenlly shut down blink.gif I counted it after every 2 minutes it's shut down. I dont think it has a virus because there are no warnings or errors. I dont know what happened to my comp. Please help! Thank you.

It's a virus. When the AntiVirus program detected the virus, the comp will auto shutdown, so it wont get deleted soo easily.

run msconfig and uncheck anything that's out of the ordinary.

Change the date to 2003, it could be the sasar B or w/e virus which will reboot your comp in a minute from whenever it pops up. But it utalizes the system date to check, so after you log on and it pops up, change the date to something else, then get updates and scan for viruses to delete it.

Here's a few suggestions:
1) do what kryogenix said and delete anything unecessary in the boot up registry (go to start>run>msconfig)
2)open up internet explorer and under Tools go to Internet Options. clear out your temporary internet files.
3)download spybot (it's free). run it and delete the files that come up.
4)if those things still don't work, try using the system restore to bring your computer back to another date where it was working fine.

If the problem gets bad. I suggest just reformating and restalling windows. Depending on if the virus affected any window system files.

System Restore is not recommended since the virus can stay on your computer and just keep on spreading.

Spybot may find it but don't think so if it a virus and spybot just finds registers for popups and advertisment.

Scanning with Norton should work. If it detects alot of errors/can't delete or whatever. Reformat is your only choice.

ok one thing i didnt see posted is alot of times virus get into your system restore so turn system restore off that helps alot too and do your self a favor go into your firewall and close all your ports but keep your internet or anything you use and close off your p2p port untill you use it thats the reason computers tend to break down ppl have alllllllll these ports open for hackers to get in to or ppl downloading software they need and they get spyware :) dont get me wrong i have a p2p but i keep as much ports closed as posible :)
