they hurt like a b!tch. have a lot of ice cream at your house the first few days after you get them, and the week after you get them tightened, it helps to eat cold stuff like that.

On what I have researched lately in Yahoo! search and Google search, I have detected on someone's blog (4 blogs to be exact) that on their personal experience, they hurt a lot. But, dentists are gonna apply a treatment to make it numb, an anastacia. Don't worry.

eh, i've never had braces. but from my friends and what i've heard, they seem to hurt at first.

for the first several months they r gonna hurt everytime u get a tightening but afta that u get used to it. do not eat anything thats realli realli chewy like caramel cuz it can break ur braces n stuff like that. if u cannot eat anything cuz of the pain then umm try eating soup

Yeah, if you get a tightening, it's going to hurt the next day..And although they say not to chew gum...well the "worst" thing that happened was that the metal thing on your big tooth came off, but just put it back down and it's all good... :D I have retainers now, but I miss having braces..LOL the colorful things you have on your teeth! >.< But yeah...oh welps :D Have fun getting braces! It hurts like h3ll, but it depends if the doctor tightens it...

And one time I woke up from yesterday of a doctor's appointment and like Omg....I was grrr even when I was BARELY touching my teeth..but *shrugs* Depends on if your doctor tightens it mostly...have fun with the braces!

my friends told me braces hurt.. im glad i dont have braces.. or if you have to have braces, use invisalign.. it's kinda expensive though..

ok......... i had braces for 3 years.... now they are out but now i hafta wear retainers the braces hurts like hella for like the first week.... HAVE ALOT OF PANADOL! AND I MEAN ALOT!! and like eat porrifge or some soft stuff u wont be able to chew...... and yeah after like a couple of months ud get used to it and u wont feel anything... well dont eat ice... the braces will come off....

Braces suck. The worst part about braces is that they look horrid in pictures. Second is that the first few days they hurt like a b!tch, and the inside of your cheeks get stuck in them and you get cankersores. So use that wax. Other than that, they're fine. Oh and they don't really limit what you eat. Eat what you like, it doesn't matter. So long as you don't break too many brackets. I've only broke one and that was like 30min after I got the braces on.

I love my braces! Mostly changing the colors and stuff. It's cool. Uhmm take tylonel when it hurts. The pain reliever ones.. and uhm.. basically yeah. What comes, what happens. =p It hurts the first couple of days.. but you get use to it. I hate getting the molding thing done though. That hurt the most out of anything.. I think. Yeah.

I've had braces for about a year and six months and I'm very used to it now. Of course they'll hurt and be sore in the beginning and when they're tightened but you'll get used to it. But one time they tightened mine sooo much...or something and I lost 12 pounds in six days. Not that I'm complaining ^_^ downsides: the pain, ruins pictures (too much), and cuts your mouth up.
I get mine off in November!
