I have a feeling if I had a boyfriend and I told my mom she'd be fine with it, maybe a bit surprised but I don't tihnk she'd overreact. The only thing is she would think it wasn't a serious relationship at all..by that I mean no kissing, no hugging, zip. Just a good friend. Plus she'd probably want to meet him.
...But even though I think she'd be alright with it, I still don't think I'd tell her if I did have one, which I don't. |

I'd never ever tell my parents. My mom even said to me once, Don't date till college. Not even in high school, because it fucks up your grades. By then, I already had a boyfriend. Too late, I guess.

I've gone out with a guy for almost like 2 years now, and my parents are finally figuring it out now. They seem okay with it though but they haven't actually 'confirmed' that they know. *shrugs* I'll just never admit it though til they say they're okay with it. =P

i dont tell my parents anything personal, not even close. my mom is too overprotective and my dad is not the type id talk to about that stuff. though i dont have a bf, i think i might get one by next year, ( yea i know i sound weird acting like i planned it all ) but im so not telling them. i wish i could go out, like just for a movie with a really close guy friend,but theyd think ill do something. sigh..asian parents.

i'm not a big fan of "labels" since im in highschool and everything, but the guys i've gone on dates w/, i told my mum there was gonna be a group of ppl. My dad doesnt care. I think he'd be cool with it.

Nuh uh, my dad && my older brothers would kill me if they knew I had a boyfriend at this age. At least my brothers let me have guy friends, but my dad doesn't even let me. 0_o but I did once, they didn't know. I do feel kinda bad... but, iuno. Welps, Thai parents are usually like that with their daughters, but if it's guys, it doesn't really matter. |

no, i dont tell them.
they give me this HUGE talk on how i don't need a boyfriend (well mom) and she tells me how most of them use girls. well what she doesn't understand is I get to know a guy very well before I go out with him. parents don't understand sometimes.

yes, i have a boyfriend and they don't care. he comes over on the weekends and i always go to his house. my parents met him a couple of weeks after we started going out and they like him which helps the situation even more. it would be hard to hide it from them because then i wouldn't be able to see him that much besides school. i've been dating boys for a while so my parents have gotten used to it.

nope, my parents say i can't date until they're fully sure i'll be able to keep up with school, extra-curricular, etc, because they don't want me to "lose sight" in that kinda stuff. i guess it's okay, i guess. my dad want's me to graduate at least...
but i don't think thats gonna happen. cause i sorta know that i'll be able to handle the school/extra stuff, so yeah. but then again i don't mind ;) my mom supports me more than my dad, and my uncle says its just because he was a guy, so yeah. my mom says to be realistic though and expand your horizon (lol). my aunty (on my mom's side) would let me date & she's my godparent, ahah. she asked if me or my sister had a boyfriend, etc, but yeah...ahahah. oh, btw, i'm filipino, if you wanted to knoww. i don't have it so bad though, my friend (who's also filipino) has to graduate for SURE and everything...my dad just want's me to graduate.  hahahQUOTE(AzNxBaBi @ Apr 10 2006, 4:45 PM) I know how you feel ugh. my mum couldn't care less most of the time. i figure she just trusts me enough to not be worried. and going to an all girls academy, she doesn't have too much to worry about if i'm going to find a guy at school.
my father and step-mum however... they always want to know if i'm in a relationship and such. they're not so nosy to say, but they just want to make sure of everything. definetly shows part of the difference between the mentalities of brits and americans. >rilind |
