well my friend made up this joke ( i think she did?) like.... a month ago and i just remembered it, lol
for those who dont know what fob is... it's like... a filipino accent...?. err.... someone explain.. it's too hard for me... well here it goes. in class, the teacher picks out kids and gives them a word to use in a sentence. to the first kid, the teacher tells to use "car". the kid says "my mom drove me to school in a car". the 2nd kid's word was tissue. he says "i use a tissue to blow my nose". then the teacher says, "ok, let's try a harder word". then gives the 3rd kid (the fob) the word "tenacious". the fob kid says "i like to put on my paborate tena-cious" oh for those who didn't understand.. he said "i like to put on my favorite tennis shoes"... errgh.. you just gotta know tha accent!! |

Fobs are Filipinos with the accent. Like, my parents. Instead of calling each other "love", then say "lub". Lol. They have the accent which doesn't really help them in some of their english proununciations. (Hope this helps explain it?)
Anyway, nice joke. Lol. Made meh laugh. |

yea FOB means "fresh off the boat".. so it can be referred to any immigrant who isn't americanized yet and speak/dress/acts like their people back home. So it's not just for filipinos. I hear it used a lot for asians tho.
