Gah, depression. A burden to us all sometimes in our lives. It's a terrible thing, but what can be done?

--Find something that entertains you greatly, and that you can do alone.
(At the beginning of the summer, I had this huge depression streak and...nothing cheered me up. I felt so lonely even though friends were just a phone call away. Being with my sister, I still felt lonely and just couldn't stand the depression I had. There was a time where I just laid on my bed...and cried. I usually don't cry [seriously, ask my friends], but I just couldn't take the overwhelming emotions I was feeling.)

--Call up friends.
(Even if you don't have close relationships with some of your friends, try forming some. Don't expect everyone to be coming to your rescue and to always know the way your feeling. You have to do your own part to reach out to them and let them console you. That's what friends are for.)

--Do something productive.
(Don't just sit around and weep all day stating, 'My life is a living hell', 'I want to die', or 'I hate my life and everyone in it.' You're not going to help yourself by trying to give yourself symphathy. Go read a book that you have been wanting to read or begin a hobby that would keep you entertained for a long time. Go help your parents on something...cook dinner, or volunteer. Maybe do some xanga work and make skins (if you're a nerd like me...you should try it laugh.gif ).

--Write in a journal to express your thoughts
(Writing can always be a stress reliever. Especially when a person is depressed, one can just write their emotions down.)

--Draw to express your thoughts
(Drawing is also another way to relieve some depression. Once placed on paper, one can see what they are drawing and can see and try to acknowledge what may be causing their depression.)

--Look in forums for people who feel the same way
(Usually, you can find in forums or chat, people who feel the same way as you. Once you discuss what you're feeling with someone who feels the same way, you can usually agree with what they are feeling also. You can obtain the feeling of not being alone in what you're feeling. You can get the feeling or normality. This can be one step in releasing the negativity that comes with depression.

There are more ways, but these are some that have helped many. =)
Just a little advice I wanted to give out. You can always talk to me if you ever feel depressed. I have much love to share.
