Well I guess first off, do you cook? How long have you been cooking for? What got you into cooking? Do you cook for fun or for practicality or for economic reasons?

I'll answer the question since I also asked lolololl - I've cooked since fourth grade, taught by my dad, and I cook for enjoyment / experimentation with foods/flavors. It also ended up being a nice skill to have especially from a female friend perspective :] but that's far from why I cook.

Second, how are you when you're cooking? For instance, last time I cooked I had a couple friends over whom I was cooking for. I told them to do whatever they wanted for about thirty minutes, tv, computer, wii, xbox, ps3, dogs, whatever they so desired. They wanted to help me cook, though :( I can't cook with other people unless they know exactly what I want them to do. I've cooked with my dad (he taught me how) since fourth grade so we can share a kitchen fairly well. We'll split up the chores and just go at it. My friends realllly wanted to help me cook though, so I didn't want to be an ass and say no so I had them do simple things that would hopefully take up a lot of time.

I don't like sharing a kitchen, at all. When I cook everything's going through my head in a way that if I tried to explain it I would sound like a babbling fool, but it all makes perfect sense to me.

I've been cooking since elementary school (6 years old or so, though nothing fancy at that point). My mom was a single parent with 3 small children. As the oldest, I helped out a lot in the kitchen.

I cook for both fun and practicality. I would say moreso for health than ecomonic reasons.

I'm great when I'm cooking? How are you? :p

I can't deal with other people in the kitchen while I'm cooking. It makes me crazy. Maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal if the kitchen was bigger but right now, I kick people out. I'm also very particular about things so if people stay out of my way, the less arguing there will be.

Yeahhhhhhh. Idk though I think if you cooked with someone for long enough you'd get used to it and it'd be easier to work together. It's when people don't know what I want though and I don't want to explain it because I could do it faster than explaining that I get irritable and kick people out.

i cook. i've been able to cook some shit for a long time. i started cooking way more though since going to college since my mom can't make my dinner every night stubborn.gif

i cook for practical reasons, economic reasons, and every once in a while enjoyment. i don't want to eat out every night. i don't want to pay for it and i just don't want to mess with going somewhere all the time. i get tired of eating food like that. my girlfriend and i switch off cooking. pretty much whoever is home is who cooks. she is a lot better than me though and more likely to cook something extra for enjoyment. i don't mind sharing the kitchen with her, but she minds sharing it with me.

i don't really share the kitchen with anyone else ever. unless my dogs count. i get pissed at them for being in the way and standing under my feet when i'm trying to do something. i don't cook for friends so that scenario is never a problem.

i do find it sorta pathetic when people are grown and can't cook anything at all. i'm not talking about whip up a gourmet dish, i mean they can't cook some spaghetti and heat up some canned sauce. my life would suck if i couldn't do that.

lol I made a topic a really long time ago asking how people who cook got into cooking.

I don't really like to cook, but I love to bake. I bake whenever I'm stressed, or whenever I'm happy... but I will NOT bake in the summertime when it is so hot. I don't think anyone wants to turn the stove on in the heat.

I'm a pretty good cook, because my aunt taught me how to cook from a very young age (she's a fabulous cook who doesn't believe in using anything out of a can, or dried noodles, etc.). She didn't just teach me how to cook things the way she did, but also why. I know quite a few people who can cook delicious food but can't tell you what basic ingredients do.

I'll share the kitchen, but only if the person/people helping out want to be bossed around.

I do not cook, but I know how. It is all a matter of having my own place, kitchen, and most importantly, money =[.

heck yes i cook! for all 3 reason.

i've always been a big eater and i used to help my mom make dessert for thanksgiving. i got started cooking on my own second semester of my senior year in high school. i made some red velvet cupcakes w/ cream cheese frosting and blue jello one day and it just sparked the passion in me. i went from wanting to be a lab tech in a crime lab to wanting to be a chef.

i went to culinary school for a year after high school and now i have two jobs in food service. i'm a personal cook for a small family and i work in a meal assembly store. i cook the major holiday meals at home. i love it all. i enjoy cooking for people because i love the result. seeing the pleasant reaction people give when they eat a meal of mine is so fulfilling. happy.gif plus i can make whatever i feel like eating (granted i have the ingredients).

I know how to bake fairly well from my grandma on my moms side, then I know how to cook a lot of mexican dishes from my grandma on my dads side. I'd rather bake though. That way I can cook it then bring it to them/make it early and not have to deal with people bugging me in the kitchen. I hate sharing a kitchen. Unless it's with younger kids because I can make them wash the dishes.

I love cooking! I have been cooking for many years now. In middle and high school I would cook dinner for my family every night. I'm very picky about what I eat, especially what brands of foods and such, so cooking for myself is more ideal.

I would prefer to cook by myself because I know what and how I want to do something, so having someone not know how to cut an onion or something of the sort is SO frustrating. If I need to have someone help then I will just make them do the easiest no-brain things, especially washing dishes or just stirring something.

Lately, I've been buying multiple vegetarian cookbooks and going on crazy cooking sprees every day. Now that I have my own apartment it's really nice to be able to just cook whenever I feel like it. In the dorms it was so hard to eat what I wanted to because... well what can you really cook in a microwave besides ramen noodles? At the same time it's frustrating because I only just moved in a short time ago so I either don't have all the spices/herbs/etc I need to make things yet OR I still don't have the right appliances necessary.

I also need to learn how to pair wines with my meals. I've just been pairing White Zinfandel with everything because it's my favorite kind of wine, but I'd like to know how to pick the right wine for any meal.

you don't have to learn to cook, it's just about what flavors and tastes you think will accompany the dish best, though i will say there are techniques and ways to cook harder better faster and stronger

that being said steven cook me some fud
