I'm not sure I've ever had one, but I'd like to try one. I just don't know a lot about Mexican food.

Ngl, the only chimichangas I've tried are the ones they have at Disneyland. Those aren't so bad though.
Love horchata, flan, crisp chicken tacos, mole poblano, their tamales (because the ones my family makes aren't as good imo) and guacamole. Churros with cream inside are also really good. /hungry |

My grandma makes bitchin tamales, but since they are such a pain in the ass to make she'll only make them around Christmas WHICH IS BULL SHIT GRANDMA. I don't give a f*ck if 88 or 108 you are going to make me food. sweat shop style.

At least your grandma makes them. One year I helped to make tamales and all my grandma did was sit down with her little cup of tea and boss us around on how to make them properly hahaha. Criticizing our every move.

I'm like...10 minutes away from Mexico, (literally...I think the border is 3-4 exits south of the freeway) so I love all kinds of Mexican food and get the good stuff easily
![]() So far my faves are: - California burritos: Carne asada burrito...except they add french fries to it. Seriously...it's amazing. Gotta have it like once a week at least. Idk if they're a San Diego thing, but zomg ![]() - Carne asada fries - Enchiladas - Mole Poblano/Verde/Amarillo - Chorizo/bacon/egg/potato burrito...shoot, just any breakfast burrito that's Mexican - Tamales - Surf and Turf burrito and/or taco: Found this at a restaurant called Lucha Libre (the place has lucha libre masks framed and on the walls all over)...has steak and shrimp in it and tastes amazing - Mexican funnel cake: Okay, granted, it's probably more fair food than Mexican food since I recently tried this at the SD county fair...but CHURRO FUNNEL CAKE. ![]() My list is definitely longer, but that stuff is just off the top of my head and/or I've had recently that stand out. Ugh...now y'all got me wanting to go to some hole in the wall Mexican food place around here to get some food ![]() |

I love tamales! Sopes are pretty good too! I love sopes with adobada <3 As much as I like california burritos, those aren't considered real Mexican food, lol. I've only had a bite of my boyfriend's chimichanga, but I don't remember much from it since it was a while ago. Maybe I should ordered it someday... hmmm...

Chalupa! But i've always wanted to try a churro Taco Bell chalupas? Because those aren't really chalupas. haha I love refried beans. If I order a combo platter from a Mexican restaurant, I usually ask for double beans (instead of rice and beans). I'm also super fond of huevos rancheros. Other favorites are tamales (I wish that they weren't such a pain in the butt to make), spinach enchiladas and chilaquiles. I LOVE chilaquiles. |

f*ckkkk rice + beans mixed is the shit. btw texas has the best mexican food :] Man, two of my FAVORITE cookbooks are The Tex Mex Cookbook and Nuevo Tex-Mex, both by Robb Walsh. They not only have kick ass recipes, but some wondeful stories told within. I can't believe I didn't comment in this topic earlier. I must have been on the way to EDC :] I'm a tex-mex-elitist :( CUZ IT'S SO GOOD IN TEXAS AND SO BAD UP NORTH Yes, the fake chalupas can be pretty tasty too. :) |
