Trader Joe's has two buck chucks (well actually now it's $2.99) It's the cheapest bottle of wine I've ever bought, but it was actually pretty good. They have all kinds but I tried White Zinfandel of course.

Has anyone ever had that Layer Cake wine? I kind of want to try it.

Maybe it just wasn't made right.

Too bad I don't live closer to NY, I'd show you that you don't have to get shitfaced to have fun, Cristy. A lot of my friends that I go out with just have a few drinks and call it a night. We mostly go to bars and pool halls, though, and I haven't got carded yet.

I'd love for you to take me out, but I've posted multiple times that I've been to house parties with friends, drank a little, and had plenty of fun. Drinking is fine in moderation; I just happen to drink in greater moderation than many of my peers do. Tell me if you're ever in the area and we can try to hang out! :)

Yeah, really. My older cousin, who's a college senior, told me that you don't go to a party/bar/club to make friends with whom you can hang out and have good conversation, and so far I've found that to be true. Maybe I'm a square for not enjoying myself at parties, but I just don't like being around people who are binge-drinking, especially when they won't remember my name if I ever see them again. I'd rather meet people around campus, whether in the dining halls, library, or just chilling out between classes.

I've met plenty of people at parties that I am now really good friends with/can have a decent conversation with.

But yeah, I agree that you don't need to get shitfaced to have fun.

how much do you really drink then?

On average, every few months. I drink very little at parties unless someone can mix me something good where I can hardly taste the alcohol. I don't even like malted/"girly" drinks like Smirnoff Ice.

It's just general advice my cousin gave me. I met two of my good friends at my first house party way back in September, but that's largely because they were both sober and we had a good conversation that night.

Erm, I don't know if I'm misunderstanding you, but aren't my peers drinking in less moderation than I do if they're doing it every weekend v. just every few months?

I was watching 1000 ways to die and this alcoholic put alcohol up his anus. He got instantly hammered, because it went straight into his bloodstream bypassing his liver and his drunk level whatever it's called was over 5 and he died.

Let's just say over a three month span if you drink just once every month then over the three months you would have drank only three times. But your friends, who drink every weekend, would have drank at least 12 times. So by only drinking every few months, you are drinking far less than they are.

Yes, unless I've made a grave mistake in what "greater moderation" actually means, in which case I will feel very silly. I meant exactly what you said, that I drink a lot less than they do. D:

There are so many different kinds of wine that you can't possibly know whether or not you like it from one glass. The ones in my refrigerator right now aren't exactly fine wines, but they're tasty. One tastes like grape juice, and the other tastes like cherries.

QUOTE(Matsumoto)
Keystone, Keystone light and Natty Ice are like every frats staple beer at my college... sooo classy. I haven't been to a frat/random house party in like two years because everyone's a tool and I just can't stand drunk, obnoxious people. I don't go to parties anymore (except when my boyfriend and his roommates or other rugby guys have them) since I'm 21 and my friends/almost everyone is underage at the parties... I prefer to go to the bars especially when we win free happy hour parties all the time.

That sounds about right. I haven't been to a frat party in two years because they're the worst. I go to house parties because I like to drink for free, but mostly just to hipster parties, as PBR is a lot more drinkable than Natty or Keystone and they tend to be full of more tolerable obnoxious drunks. I'm still not 21, so while I've been functioning like I am for the last two years in terms of going to bars, I can't always get into all bars and that's a pain because everyone I hang out with is 21. But at least I'll be legal for my last year of college.

Also, I had no idea there was non-light Keystone for the longest time. I've never seen anyone drink it.

I wouldn't drink it on my own, but it's better than comparable beers. It might just be by association, though. If they're drinking Natty or Keystone, it's not where I want to be. Miller or Bud Light is questionable, but can be ok. Generally if they have PBR or maybe Miller Highlife (or something better) I'm more likely to have a good time. I can't drink Highlife anymore...can't remember what I even associate it with, but something bad.
