so i wanna join this service club called "Interact". it's one of those rotary clubs. it's all guys, so you could say its our high school fraternity. i can't join till i'm a sophomore, but i'm aware that i need to do some type of talent in front of the whole club to deliberate if i should be in the club or not. the interview/talent thing is in a room, and the club that i wanna join has this type of motto thing. they have mist machines and they wear sunglasses and hats to hide their facial expressions when they have to judge on people that want to join. oh, and even if i get accepted, i have to do this type of "initiation" called "induction day". they basically grab buckets of paint and they slap all the blue and yellow paint on you and you have to wear it the whole day. (our colors) the point is, the questions they ask at the interviews are like any other questions "why do you wanna join?". i'd probably say because i love their jersey shirts and that i just wanna help people out. what would you say?

what type of talent should i do? i can't tell them graphic designing because that's probably plain boring to them. i could always get into a lady gaga costume and dance to bad romance... and btw, i only know 1 person in that club, haha. all my friends want to join Key.

We had Interact at my highschool, and it was NOTHING like how you're describing it. Then again, we had fewer useless people at my school.

I joined it for one year, but we had a meeting where this lady came in to talk about AIDS in Africa. I had to excuse myself from that meeting cause I couldn't stop laughing at the pictures of the diseased kids on the projector.

I never went back after that day.

Dude I was just talking to Tina about this last night.. I had no idea what key club was.

My high school didn't have anything like this. o.o Neither did any high school in the area.

Sidenote, that sounds a bit like hazing.

Out of curiosity, what are your reasons for wanting to join this organization? Does it help resume/college ap build? Are you looking for more socialization?

The reason why I want to join is because I like their shirt jerseys and that it does look good on my Resume. there are more popular clubs that would look good on my resume such as Key, but key is not my cup of tea. the whole club is based on leadership, socialization, and selflessness for others. ironic part is that the club only does like 5 activities the whole school year, but they meet up every week. i'll upload a pic later showing the club's jersey.

just had a chat with one of the club members, and he says i should keep the whole homosexuality profile to a down low since they don't seem very opening, but other than that he said that i have a high chance of making in the fraternity.

What the. So in other words, disguise your sexuality and you'll be accepted?

It's sad how the "don't ask, don't tell" mentality exists in high school.

Beenly, I think you should be fine even if you have to reveal your orientation, just after you've established footing in the club and can have them see you aren't a flamboyant bi.

so i've been doing research on fraternities and high school service clubs and this is what i have synthesized.

The club that I want to get into = LIKE A SIGMA CHI HIGH SCHOOL VERSION

and i need to impress them. i need to lose like 20 pounds so i don't even look that obesed and i need to be more active in school. that's all it takes. oh and i probably need to buy more ralph lauren and lacoste stuff with some boat shoes so i gotta work extra hard this summer. do any of you know a company job that hires 15 year olds? LOL

edit:
oh yeah and did i mention that this service club likes to party a lot. i'm not the party type person but it's somewhat mandatory to be at least a couple of parties.

Try this: establish yourself in the club, and then be who you are. Hell, you might even change somebody's mind

LOL. I think the correct term would be Butch. Bears are the ones that are more...hairy.

Wow, seriously Beenly? You'd stoop that low just to join a club like that? f*cking ridiculous.

Interacts here don't do that, it's the same as Key Club and LEO. The main goals of all three of those clubs are basically the same: promote leadership through serving. You got some f*cked up Interact there.

LOL ok hold on, hold on lemme get this right:

So you wanna join a school "fraternity" where they wanna embarrass you, disguise your homosexuality, haze you, paint you, JUDGE you, make you lose weight, make you wear certain clothes, make you wear lacoste polos and boat shoes? wtf, is basically a dumb popularity club, sounds like a reality TV show, doesn't even do "community service" even though "you wanna help people", parties 24/7, prob has too much drama...

...bc you like their dumb plain blue and gold shirt jerseys.

Ok. You do that.

Btw Interact doesn't do shiz for your resume, unless you're leadership or something.

I think it's good for him. He's overweight and annoying as hell. Super flamboyant, needs to change. People can tell he's gay without him going around trying to project his homosexuality. He's a 15 year old kid who needs to stops being such a f****t. Boat shoes / polos are some of the lame shit he probably already wears, he just chooses the bright pink boat shoes and the polo with a rainbow on it. There's so much stupid shit that he does that if anyone were to just sit and think they'd realize how asinine it is to be doing shit like that.
