i'm taking a leave of absence from school until january and am sort of useless until then. i'm not allowed by the university to take academic courses, so my only other logical option would be to work.

What type of work would be easy for me to get and what sort of pay do they offer? I'm a college student, I have experience talking on phones, working in labs... and that's sort of it =/

The pay I'm looking for is anything over $12/hr.

Any ideas?

That's only about 8-9 months. If you're looking for a steady real job, it'll be hard, cuz most want long terms, especially for the pay you are looking for. You're better off just working a regular job for the time being, and by this I mean, food service, retail, etc.

Also, if you have enough qualifications in terms of work experience, being a clerk at a bank (Bank of America, CHASE, or Wells Fargo, etc) is pretty good too.

I'd suggest a call center job, most would pay $12-15 an hour. Most would take high school graduates. I'm sure with some college under your belt you'd be much more likely. Mostly everything is online now so be sure to have an electronic resume.

Wow, nice.. I thought about applying for the census but never did it. I'm also looking for another job, something that pays better. My problem is that due to school conflicts I really have no choice but to work nights, so I can't do anything legitimate besides retail/food service. Love love love the job availability in this town, too..
