MySpace Div Help Options

I used a Div Overlay from here and made my own layout from it. It looks great in safari or firefox, but in internet explorer (which sadly most people are using) the transparency comes out all botched up. I tried using PNGs, switching the PNGS to GIF, nothing works. Can someone fix it so it comes out right. The problem is that where there should be white comes out the color of the background. Taking out the background and leaving a solid white one is my temporary workaround but it looks better with a background. Changing the tranparencys to white does nothting.
