what the f*ck happened to halloween?
Idk by my place I took my siblings trick-or-treating and alot of people didnt bother to come to the door or they put signs up magically saying they didnt celebrate halloween or they would give to some and then not to others. Overall lots of half assing going around... Bad economy or not theres always a way to find something to give (at least i think) People gave chips, odd crackers, fruit snacks, pencils, cute little toys at least something a little something. I watched a few kids get turned away simply because they had pillow cases instead of those official trick or treating bags, i guess it was looked at as people intentionally being greedy if they had a bag larger then a grocery bag...? wtf And at alot of places people would want to see a costume on everyone or if the costume wasnt visible (its cold out mind you so its only natural a caring person would make kids wear their jackets) they would actually be turned away, my brother chris got kicked out of places because they didnt think his costume was "enough" because he opted out of wearing his snake eye ninja mask i thought that was bullshit and i ended up having to put make up on him so that it would convince idiots he was a ninja without the mask ugh. Oh and then how my town originally had trick or treating hours from noon to 8pm and then people bitched about how it was too long and it was moved to 3 to 7pm and PEOPLE STILL BITCHED ABOUT IT saying even THAT was too long. I mean its like I knew that this Halloween would be rough on people but I didnt think people would in general be THAT stingy... Did anyone else encounter half assing halloween this year? |

I don't know about the others, but I just went to a bunch of parties last night.
I woke up at 1 AM in Louisiana, so I guess that last party went good. |

Wow what a bunch of douches! o__O I've never seen shit like that on Halloween. People around here are either super enthusiastic about it, or they just shut off their lights...

12 to 8 is way too long. there will be absolutely nothing left at 8. (then people will bitch there is nothing left, how can you win!) 3 to 8 is too long to me too. why do people wanna trick or treat in the afternoon? do that shit at night. i don't want people ringing my doorbell for 5 hours straight. i don't celebrate it or give shit anyway though. but if i did, i wouldn't give it to half assed 20 year olds. i would give it to kids. there's a bunch of dipshit teenagers and older who think they can go around and get candy for basically nothing and i think it's obnoxious. i mean if you're 16+ you needa be dressed really damn good before i think you deserve candy that would otherwise go to a 7 year old.

I agree. Its very much a turn off to see high schoolers ringing my doorbell looking like whores, asking for candy. My mom slammed the door on idiots like that.. " if you are old enough to look like a whore, you are old enough to give up trick or treating as well" you would think people would get that. |

I'd give them 6-10 since 8 is late for some little kids. When I used to pass out candy I would always give a shit load to little kids, but if someone I knew or some jackass 20 year old came up to me I would just give them one piece of the shitty candy that little kids don't want anyway.
I don't care if you are taking smaller kids trick or treating with you, but if you are just alone asking me for candy I'm throwing it at your face. |

Who is the city to dictate what time you can trick or treat? Is there a mandatory curfew on halloween? Can I not distribute candy to someone who rings my doorbell just because it's past 8?
My city doesn't do that though. |

Neither does mine. I just always waited till after 10 to get fuxed up, so it was my designated trick or treating time.
I know a lot of suburbs do it. |

i didn't see any trick or treaters in my neighborhood but that's expected (not a lot of kids on my side). i saw a lot of people ages 17 to well in their 30s dressed up and not so dressed up. a girl at the Rocky Horror Picture Show came out in her tighty whiteys and tape over her nipples. i'm not sure what or who she was supposed to be but i know she had to be cold. most of the costumes i saw looked like some effort was put into them.

No one comes to my house for candy, so I don't really have to worry about anything.
My mom said that she handed out candy from 4-6, which isn't that long. I think it's 4-9 or 4-10 where I live. |

Diana, where the f*ck do you live? Those people there are snooty.
My house is a bit hard to find, so people only trick or treat from like 7-9. Sucks. |

Yeah, for some reason in suburbs we seem to be the only people who have mandatory TT curfews, and usually their placed in the daylight hours which is hilarious because its not us with the crime rate its Chicago and even they have no time limit LOL |

there is ZERO halloween spirit. But you live in HK... Do they even celebrate Halloween like Americans do? :? whatevz, go eat your mango desserts from 许留山 lol I was at SCHOOL studying until ~9pm on Halloween. Then I went to a party (with my skanky Alice costume) for ~ 2 hours, then went home because it got a little sketchy at the party. I believe people stop trick or treatin' by 10pm anyway, since children can't be out too late at night. The last time I went trick or treating was probably in middle school, and I was dressed up (6th grade, I think). But then my neighborhood back then was pretty shady/sketchy, so I only went to a few houses. There's a reason why there's a police department smack dab in the middle of the area I live in. I'm not too sure about the Halloween spirit in my neighborhood since I live so close to the freeway. I usually just get on the main road out of all the neighborhoods, and then get on the freeway. I hardly pass any decorated homes. DAMN I WANT SOME SMARTIES OR SWEET TARTS RIGHT NOW... |
