when your getting paid per impression do you get 5 cents or is 1,000 impressions for 5 cents in most cases?

btw i heard adsense only does paid per click on ads, do they do impressionss too?

What you're paid is based on the type of ad being shown. Some industries set higher bid levels than others (medical and law are usually in excess of $2 per click, "resource" type industries generally run around 5 - 15 cents per click). CPM (impressions) payments also vary based on industry.

Adsense pays both per click and per 1,000 impressions. Impression payments are based only on image advertisements. Clicks are paid on both text and image, and the amount you get fades over time based on IP address and geographic location (i.e., if you have people in one area clicking more than people in other areas, you get less than the first clicks).

thanks for the reply. so where do you go to get the highest value for the ads displayed on your page(is adsense the best/pays more)? if you get more and more hits, does it go from 5 cents CPM to 10 cents, do change ads or your just stuck with it?

as for adsense if you get 1,000 impressions how much do you get?

There's really no fixed payout. The types of ads you receive vary and depend on the type of content you have on your website. If you're blogging about medicine and pharmaceuticals or law, you'll likely get high-paying ads. If you're running a resource site, you'll get low-paying ads. How much advertisers are willing to pay is based on the value of that industry (medical products are generally more expensive), and how saturated the industry is. Resource ads don't pay very much because advertisers have to deliver ads to a demographic (usually minors) that probably won't be buying their products in the first place.

How popular is your website? Depending on your traffic, Pay Per Click will more than likely not generate much money.

^ Earnings are how much you've made, yes. The eCPM is just relative to the type of ads you're displaying, and how much each ad impression earns you. Like I said before, text ads only give you money if they're clicked, while image ads give you money when they're clicked, and per 1,000 impressions.

The eCPM is calculated based on the number of times all of your ads have been displayed (both text & image). It's saying that if you earn $45 after your ads have been shown 100,000 times, then your eCPM is 45 cents. That $45 you earned includes what you've been paid for each click, and what you've been paid per 1,000 impressions of image advertisements (which is CPM, not eCPM).

An impression is just when someone sees the ad. In theory, image ads give out more, because they pay per click and impression. In reality, however, there aren't as many image ads through Google as there are text ads, so people click the same image ad more often. Over time, the same ad pays less.

You have $1.73; you're averaging 58 cents a day. Under the eCPM column, if you were to keep the rate of September 4th (it fluctuates based on the ads being displayed), then you would be getting $7.57 every 1,000 impressions.

and. on my blog. the ad stays the same damn jay-z ad. been like that sence i put it on and i only have 3 posts about jay-z.

^ Stop writing about Jay-Z. If GoogleBot isn't stopping by for a visit very often, it's not going to find new content to display ads. Get a sitemap, tell Google how often to visit your site, and write with variety.

And if you've got all your posts on separate pages, you might be able to use a robots.txt page to prevent GoogleBot from seeing that page.
