fifth round: sneaker design abbey suggested the theme for this round. alright, so you need to design a custom shoe. i'm not going to put much limit on this. you can do pretty much whatever theme on the shoe you want. you can pick the shoe you want the design on. everything is just up to you, make something you like. finding templates and stuff is mostly up to you. i'm going to link to some templates below at pigmag.com. if you're wanting to do just a standard air force 1 shoe or dunk then that's probably the place to get a template. you can download it in a photoshop file and it already has each section of the shoe split into layers. if you wanna design a shoe that isn't on there (converse, vans, whatever), then that's up to you to find an image to design on. examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzMduyT5KgM here's a video that has a bunch of different shoe designs. maybe it will give you some ideas. you can just google custom sneakers and research on your own. pretty much anything in the world you can base a custom sneaker design off of. bands, sports teams, artists, movies, books, cities, i mean just whatever. anything can be your inspiration for color schemes and stuff like that. also i'm going to link a couple youtube tutorials. there's a ton of youtube videos, i didn't wanna go through them all to see which were the best. watching some video tutorials might be a good way to get started though and get a basic idea for what you're doing. templates http://pigmag.com/it/2004/07/09/official-sneaker-templates/ tutorials http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXfCgmZ8p2g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhUCdGyE7Xk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cATfYADI-Ls THIS IS DUE 2 WEEKS FROM NOW, AUGUST 5TH. oh yeah can a mod pin this |

Sounds interesting..
So, it's okay to customize an already produced brand. (ie. custom AF) as well as a completely new shoe, not made by a different brand? |

As in, not using the templates from nike, vans, etc. Just creating something original.

i've been playing around and coloring that template i linked. it's f*cking fun as hell since everything is already set up and all you have to do is select the layer of the piece and color.

but it's working with colors/textures/pictures/ect, the same thing that would be worked with making any other kind of graphic art. regardless, in the end i think people who design just have a design skill that should be able to reach across different media. edit nvm it was edited |

This is the blackest thing I have seen in a long time. I like it.
edit: aww man... I didnt realize that those are psd that have layers. It makes it so easy?! this round is way to easy...it might be a little better if you said you have to use a plain image of a shoe. Whatevs. |

i don't really care how easy it is. people can be creative and make it more intricate than just coloring the pieces. pictures can be added, which is done on a lot of custom shoes. different fabric textures can be added. blah blah blah it's fun either way so i just want people to enter and have fun with it.
