This post is mainly for the thrill the world NYC 2009 event, but if you go on www.thrilltheworld.com you can check if there will be one around your area.
Basically it's a worldwide simultaneous dance of MJ's Thriller, trying to break the world record. People come decked out in zombie costumes & everything.
