If I made a div layout with a main background at at width of 1200px but someone was viewing the page with a monitor that had a lower resolution than that, would the image resize or would it create a horizontal scrollbar?

I believe that it would create a horizontal scrollbar. Unless the picture dimensions are based on percentage widths versus a fixed pixel amount, a horizontal scrollbar would be created. It'd be similar to making your desktop a smaller resolution, less icons would fit since the resolution of the icon doesn't change.
If anything, try it with your computer. Change your resolution, and then change back to normal. |
