No cutting out anything, no tracing anything, and I'm quite proud of myself. I don't really think I have a good mind for visualizing these things, so I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
 Thoughts? After some minor changes:

I think it looks pretty good but it's a little weird. The tail seems to be a wee bit too big and the beak looks a little bit too small. I also think you should make it more obvious where the wing is because it sort of looks like it doesn't have any wings. Otherwise, good job!

Alright, I changed the beak and got rid of some of the weird fat looking stuff around his face haha

i think the second version looks way better. the beak change helped a lot imo.
