congrats on coming in first. the judges liked your design and thought it had an interesting concept. we think the illustration is extremely well done. the placement on the shirt is nice and your presentation is great as well. your illustration does a good job of illustrating the second lyric, the "so let's ride bikes into the sea and catch a bus outside the reef...". i don't think the first lyric was even really necessary to be honest, even if you got inspiration from both, i know you were concerned it might not fit the music theme well enough. it was kinda just like extra confusion for the judges because it doesn't seem like it applies to the shirt near as much as the second. all together it's a nice design and i think it'd look great on a shirt.

you came in second with the judges. we think you have a nice color scheme in general and it's cool that you stuck to the branding for a certain album. our biggest issue/confusion was with the texture you put on it. none of us have ever seen a texture applied to a t shirt and i'm not even sure how they'd go about doing that. we all thought it would be better as just a grey t-shirt without the texture. i think over all it's a pretty nice design. i'm not sure how i feel about using a straight photograph on a t shirt. i'm not usually a big fan of that, but it might work alright on this considering it's small. like i said though, the color is nice, it really pops. i can see people wanting a shirt like this.

these are in no particular order now, there was judges who preferred joseph's over zachy's and zachy's over josephs.

the judges thought your design was pretty good. i like the color scheme, i like the black and grey and white. it looks clean and nice. the number one complaint about it though was with the vector. we don't feel like it makes the connection that it's john mayer. i mean the only reason we have any clue it's him is because his name is everywhere on it. i think that you could have chosen a better image for that. something that bugs me he looks someone who is bald or has extremely short hair, which john mayer has hardly ever in his career had hair like that. most people don't have a buzz cut kinda hairstyle in their head when they think of him. if you're gonna do a silloutte of someone that is this plain then i think you need to try to pick the most iconic picture you can. the judges suggested you maybe should have used a picture of him with a guitar. that would have greatly helped it i think. going back to the iconic picture i think you have to think about what do people associate john mayer with and include those kinda things to help make the connection between the image and the words in the background. otherwise, i like it, i'd wear it. this design is so much better than last round. i think it's nice, it shows you've improved.


Zachy:

some judges liked it and some judges didn't as much. over all we agree that it's pretty nice and clean. one complaint is that you could have done more with the design. i see what they mean and i also can see how someone would like the simplicity. on that point i guess it just comes down to preference between people. i think the best thing about this design is the placement of the X's. we liked that it was on diagonal and drew the viewers eyes around the entire shirt. the judges didn't think it was a bad shirt, we just didn't think it stood out as well as the winners.
