You can't change the graphics card in a laptop.
And Dell doesn't make graphics cards. |

1. You cannot upgrade graphics cards on a laptop unless you have MXM hardware, and even then it's such a pain in the ass that it's not worth it. 2. If you want a decent graphics card in a laptop purchase a laptop with a geforce 9600 or 9800. 3. Dell doesn't make graphics cards. They place the graphics chips in their machines. |

I have a massive screen with 1440 x 900 Resolution, I notice the difference between max and medium very much. That's not a massive screen.... *sigh* but anyway, there are certain settings which will have a huge impact upon the look of the game. Typically these are your texture detail settings. I believe you. What if I buy a Dell Inspirewtf 1545 with a Mobility 3450.. how would that shit be on Crysis, GTA 4 and Grid? You will not be able to play those games effectively with the M3450. They aren't even playable on that card unless you play below the native resolution and on low settings. If you want to go with ATI then I wouldn't drop lower than a 4650 or 3650. If you want to go Nvidia then don't drop lower than the 9600. I like those cards because I believe they have a good balance for power/battery life. As long as the graphics settings are tweaked properly, those cards can play anything on the market with a smooth frame rate. If you want to purchase a gaming rig then don't buy a laptop... it defeats the purpose of a laptop (mobility). *sigh* |

I buy laptops for mobility. The logic in buying a gaming-rig/laptop just isn't there.

I'd go with GTX260 x2 in sli.
Sli GTX260 > all At least in price : performance |

I'd go with GTX260 x2 in sli. Sli GTX260 > all At least in price : performance Assuming your PSU can handle it. Most people don't have the 900W power supply required to do that. Also, overclocking mid-range parts is a better route than buying ridiculously powerful parts and leaving them stock. |
