Hey x

I was wondering what you use too cut out images on photoshop?
everytime i try it dosen't turn out too well or it takes to long.

here's an example :)

pen tool is the best for doing things like this. it takes practice!

If you have a lot of trouble with the pen tool, you could always use layer masks ._.
It's a non-destructive way of editing stuff so if you make a mistake, you can easily get the thing back.

I use the masking technique, though pen tool is really the best way of doing it I think, takes more mastery though

For that image, they used the lasso tools. For more intricate detailing, as in if you wanted to cut out their bodies, shoes to head, the pen tool might be the best way. Masking is fantastic too, but you kinda have to know what you're doing so you don't mess something up with that.

I can never understand how people can cut hair so damn neatly. And that's why I don't do photo manips.

pro photo manips can be 6-8 hours total



that's like a work day gat dayum

but that's why you shouldn't get too frustrated when you can't get neat work in less than 30 minutes.

Hair, is so hard. I never know if I should add small strands of hair or not.

I use, what is the equivalent of the pen tool. I would suggest using as few points as possible. Like if a leg is straight or has a nice curve, there is no point in using a point every few pixels. Just use one long one.
