Yeah, they were saying around 300,000 pigs were killed for no real reason.
I guess older people are not as likely to die from it because they were exposed to it back in the 1950's-1960's. |

well all the dumbf*cks everywhere are killing mass amounts of pigs because of this so they shouldn't have called it that. it was sad on the news this morning when they were talking to people in egypt. they took people's pigs away and killed them as a "precaution" and didn't even give the people any payment for it. they were talking to one lady who supported her family that way and now her 20 something pigs are dead and she has nothing to show for it and can't send her kids to school. f*cked up. roflmao I heard about that. WTF EGYPT?!?!? 350,000 PIGS?! SWINE FLU HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SWINE YOU IGNORANT FOOLS! Oh and they didn't receive payment because they were told that their swine meat can still be sold. The pigs were killed in case the pigs in the future get sick lol... But still that just ruined a lot of income for those poor bastards. |

I'm a microbiology major who just finished writing a research paper on swine influenza. I'm finding this thread quite hilarious.

so our school has always had this issue with sanitation. it's not dirty, the kids just aren't very clean. but i swear to god the school has spent a thousand dollars on germ-x, lysol, even deodorant 'cause of this stupid thing...the rooms are PACKED. we even have dedicated bathroom breaks each period to wash our hands.
but it's so nice to walk down the jr.high/freshmen hallway and not smell them for once. |

90 people get the swine flu and everyone is wearing face masks. Millions of people have AIDS but no one wears condoms!

How can it be more serious than the common flu when it has killed like..2 people in ALL of the U.S.? lol... the common flu kills THOUSANDS each year. We don't need to be in a state or national emergency -.- thousands? lol @ that. you must be reading pre-2005 doctored reports from the CDC. maybe you should take a peek at the CDC's official records in the NVSS. only a few hundred die from seasonal influenza each year. we panicked with avian flu. now with swine flu. are we going to panic when canine flu makes its way into humans? swine flu is only becoming a pandemic because it's so wide spread (check your local webster's for the definition of pandemic) and because they're the first documented cases in humans. it's still nothing serious. humans can still get avian flu, but no one is freaking out about it anymore because there are now vaccines. i find it a bit ironic, though, because drugs induce mutations. next we'll start growing wings and hooves. |

One more proof that evolution isn't true, because no good side affects or whatever can come from mutation of any kind.

^LMAO
You're evil I heard a kid died from it in Houston. Im scared cause my mama and grandmother stay in Texas. I heard it made its way to Germany too. Now Im worried for myself cause thats where im stationed. But the reason why they call it Swine flu is because the strain can infect humans and pigs, but its been a while since it infected people like this. |

^Yeah, a 2 year old died from it.
Anyone with a devolved immune system will more than likely live, and since it is a virus they won't have to worry about it any more after already having it once. Or that's what I have heard. |

"A two-year-old child became the first person to die of swine flu outside of Mexico Wednesday, as numbers of suspected and confirmed cases continued to rise around the globe.
The toddler, who died Monday at a hospital in Houston, Texas, was visiting the United States from Mexico." via |
