So like, you know when you get hit in the eye, you see a flash of light and that's because the receptors in your eye are stimulated but your brain registers it as light? My prof just said "poke your upper lip with a really sharp pencil and you'll feel something that has nothing to do with touch" and I'm sitting here like an idiot poking my lip and I can't figure out what it is

And she refuses to say what it is because she doesnt wanna "ruin it."

idk she was very specific that it had to be a pencil. a "really sharp lead pencil." sharper than a mechanical pencil.

Could she have meant by it not being a touch sensation that it was something rather than feeling the texture/pressure of it? My guess is a cold feeling, based on what I found.

This has to be right. I just tried poking the pencil on my lip and it was like freezing.. and I tried other places on my face and it wasn't really that cold at all.
