Yesterday I found an old OLD pc desktop in my garage that my fam used to use.

specs:
40Gb hard drive
2.2 ghz proccesor
500mb ram.

At the time (3-4 yrs back) none of us were nerds and it started getting slower and slower until we couldnt even open internet explorer.

So i set it up only to find I couldnt even open the start menu.
So i rebooted it in safe mode and ran a disk cleanup which took 6 hrs and defragmented it which took an entire night.

I also gave it the classic theme to speed it up, and got rid of dektop icons and disable alot of prgrams from opening at startup.

It was a succes and next I was going to duel boot it with ubuntu(linux operating system) which would be faster. But I started getting so many viruses on xp that I couldnt do anything.

So i decided to put ubuntu over xp and let it be only linux.
And I had some installing problems but its finnaly working and its pretty fast and pretty handsome:)

(I like to think of ubuntu as a man.haha)

And I just learnt how to install programs on it.

Heres a screenshot of the final product.

(i hate the monitor-its a 15" 1024x768 ughh)

This is my first nerdy computer thing ive done besides web design.

Everyone should try linux. And I would definitely suggest ubuntu.
Never throw away a computer!

Unfortunately...
Because I put this on an old computer with an awful video card I had to remove compiz for it to work.
So no cool taskbar, or cube, or other effects.

I wanted to try and make it look like a mac...

O well.
