My CPU usage percentage has gone really high these past few days.
I suspect that I have a virus.

Are there any free virus scanners out there that I can download for my mac?

that's not much information. you should probably add in what os you're using, leopard? i highly doubt you have a virus though. i've never heard known anyone on a mac have one. i wouldn't skip right to it probably being a virus first though.

what are you running when your cpu% goes high?

1. Download Main Menu along with App Track.
2. Apps -> Utilities -> Disk Utility -> Verify Disk Permissions/Repair Disk
3. Stop downloading so much porn

App Trap = http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/25663/apptapp-installer

What this basically does is every time you put a file into your trash, it asks if you also wanna trash any files that associate itself with that file you are currently deleting. Kinda like the Add/Remove in windows

Main Menu = http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17111

This is a program that lets you select things to clean up like your caches/web history/logs/etc

If you are still running on high CPU, just google "Why my mac is slow" or something on that line.

It's highly unlikely you have a virus. Safari and iTunes can both use up a good chunk of CPU time.
