don't you guys notice how in college settings, professor's don't assign seating charts. so why is it that students still sit in the same seat the next day they did from the 1st day of class. we are such territorial animals. _unsure.gif

I sit at a different spot every econ and graphic design class... but that might just be because I don't have a specific group of friends I like to sit with in them. In my English and anthropology classes, I sit in the same area up front with a couple of friends.

Maybe it's just easier for people to sit in the same place because it's easier to find each other that way. It won't be very efficient if you have to look for people every single class because they switched seats. Plus people like to sit where they feel comfortable or are familiar with.

It annoys me when people don't continue to sit in the same seats. My poli sci teacher has a 12:20 class and an 8:00, so there are always people from the early class coming to my class and taking my seat. It's just kind of annoying. In the beginning you establish were you want to sit, or you move around until you find a spot you like, but at some point everyone should be content where they are. It throws things off, like who you want to sit by when you arbitrary move around mid-semester.

I like to sit in front in my math class. My English teacher gave us a seating chart. I think it's just because there is so much discussion in that class and she doesn't want to just point at people when they want to speak, she actually wants to call you by your name. I'll sit in different places in all my other classes, though.

if a seasonal0.gif came and say "hey, that's my seat" i'd run away like a xmas.gif with the immigration police on his tail.

I'm pretty sure I've had assigned seats in at least one college class. Three semesters in and i already can't remember half of what I've taken, but I think so...

Ugh I hate it ):):

First day i was in the back, but second day, I ended up in the front seat cause i was late, and someone already took it. Next thing you know, it was my permanent seat :[ Dead f*cking center.

But i hate it more when you end up sitting next to retarded people.

I usually move around a little but sit in the same general area. Mostly for finding friends and its just the most convenient place for me. *shrug* I don't think about it that much really.

I rarely go to class anymore... But when I did, I try to sit in the same area, particularly became either I have bad eyesight or I just want to get out of the class as quickly as possible. My classes are all lecture halls (except my chem lab, but the lecture for it is a lecture hall), but I barely go to lecture so when I do, I'm always late and I end up sitting in random seats. Fortunately three of my lectures use overheads/powerpoints. wink.gif

Ack, you know what bothers me? When people put their bags on seats, especially in crowded lectures! It's not like they're even saving a seat for anyone! =_="

I just like to establish a sense of regularity, I guess. I don't like to come in and ponder where I'm going to sit that day.

I got no problem bringing out my inner puerto rican and keeping shit real and moving their shit.Sure they get mad and bitchy like I did something bad but they dont mess with a irritated taco girl. I mean there are more merciful ways of dying you know..
