and still today, we hold the values of the Declaration of Independence.

no no no! you were close but you seriously missed the bullseye.
the declaration of independence was actually ratified on july 4, 1776; the cartoon is saying that that line was a total crock of shit up until this point. now the declaration has truly be ratified. for my own commentary: it's still a total crock of shit.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

That's why the top sentence from the Declaration of Independence is written in inky script. I thought this one was pretty obvious.

Well that would be a line from our Declaration of Independence. The picture shows Obama walking up to the North facade of the White House.

I think what the picture is saying is that all men are created equal, and now that shows some truth that on Nov. 4 a black man, when usually it's a white man that wins presidency is elected the president. That our country holds no bias towards the black man, and still today, we hold the values of the Declaration of Independence.

I agree. However, I believe that we as a country still have a LONG way to go. I am impressed that many voters put aside racial ideals and saw that we need change. However, the fact that before Obama was even elected there were plots to assasinate him, only shows the amount of ignorance in our country. I believe that we are capable of making change as long as we get it through our heads that no race, culture, sex, religion, etc. is superior to another. Whether we like it or not, we are all equal, we just have to learn to see the equality and how to see our differences as blessings to help one another. As Booker T. Washington said "Each one, Teach one."
