^It's always easier to stick with what you already have because you've been so used to it for so long. But y'know, the new version is actually a lot easier to work around than you'd think.

Hopefully this hasn't been covered elsewhere, but this was the only relevant thread I found.

http://developer.myspace.com/Community/forums/t/6291.aspx

I'm very curious as to why Myspace so severely hobbled developers when it comes to CSS? Is there any valid excuse for it? Any reasonable justification?

I would like to see some pressure put on Myspace to make the 2.0 Profiles a little less ... well, crappy to be honest, when it comes to themeability.

They are forcing developers to stick with the old 1.0 themes to be able to really customize them for different browsers etc. And who knows how long the 1.0 themes are going to be supported?

The link above is my thread on the Myspace developer forum where I posted about this issue. You'll see there that Myspace isn't being very helpful when it comes to getting questions answered about the issue.

Try to use more specific names to style the !important things, for example, div#module instead of #module. It works for me.

Hi!

So everything sounds great and nice and everything but
how can I use my "DIV Overlay Layout" over the "2.0"????

It seems that the news of TOM is brandnew...

I just recently stumbled across this tut for 2.0 divs. Thouht it would be helpful.

um Mike, what you had said earlier about viewing the source code..

it doesnt show the attributes used to customize the layout..

it only shows the coding that was used to make the layout.. like the names and other stuff about the modules..

^ the styles you use on your own profile is the last CSS document in that list. it does need your friend ID to work, though.
