I like the idea of it, being completely customizable, within myspace itself. I haven't seen what people are able to do with the Myspace 2.0 profiles yet. I hope that 1.0 css/html are still valid with the 2.0 css. :/ maybe that's hoping for too much.

Well, TOM said something of CSS!! But I'm also trying to figure
it out...I mean he accepts my actual myspace-design that I used in
"1.0" but he won't take over background and add the one big picture
I used in it....PLUS he still shows the 2.0-stuff underneath mashed
together xD

Well, the little Tom notice said you don't have to use 2.0. If codes don't work right in 2.0, you could always switch back. shrug.gif

Other than the new navigation, I really don't pay attention to all these pointless changes. I still haven't even switched to the new home skin.

I still can code in 2.0. You can use number signs (#) now. Not one of the best things though.

I kinda like how it looks. It doesn't look pre-2000.

I think that once people start figuring out how the coding works we can get some pretty good looking layouts out. It looks much better than the old gaudy myspace layout default. This looks much more sleak and I'm just anxious to see what everybody does with it.

I haven't seen it yet, and I don't really care.
As long as we still have the 1.0 option.
And as long as you can hide everything with CSS :)

Me too, but then again I have yet to try 2.0 out. ;] But unless It is not too much different as far as coding wise I will most likely, at least until no one wants them anymore, keep coding in 1.0.

I found this here at Huey 2.0 page he is definitly one of the most useful peeps in the myspace forums("http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endid=289857996")

CODE
here's a list of the profile 2.0 section classes

--------------------------------------

div#leaderboard {}
div#googleBar {}
div#topnav {}
div#header {}
div.content {}

div.basicInfoModule {}
div.musicPlayerModule {}
div.interestsModule {}
div.blurbsModule {}
div.friendSpaceModule {}
div.detailsModule {}
div.schoolsModule {}
div.companiesModule {}
div.networkingModule {}
div.videoSliderModule {}
div.commentsModule {}
div.mdpApplicationModule {}
div#footer {}

---------------------------------------

each of them have divs called this inside of them

div.moduleMid
div.moduleMid1
div.moduleMid2

those create the rounded border

---------------------------------------

the header div for each module is called this

h3.moduleHead

---------------------------------------

so, to put a background image on the header of the interests section (for example) you would use this css

div.interestsModule h3.moduleHead {background-image:url(URL);}
Reason for edit: please put codes in codeboxes. thanks :D

I like it im kinda all for having a simple profile
and i love the fact that u can choose
what parts of your profile are private
or make parts of it only visible by certain catagories
i give tom and his crew a high five for this one lol

I actually really like it.. I just didn't have enough time to figure out how to hide "About Me" words, etc. before actually saving.

But I liked it. For now, I'll keep it my way though.

PS, you can't view top friends / comments through Mozilla's View>No Style on 2.0's anymore. :(

I don't know. The whole 2.0 thing is kind of cool but I'll stick with the 1.0 version. I'm too used to it. :)

The new profile 2.0 is pretty neat and handy for people who aren't familar with HTML/CSS but I like 1.0 better. _smile.gif

^ it's also very handy for those who are familiar with it. it's all around easier; there are no tables to deal with anymore, and you can customize it to no ends. the little curved corners around the "modules"; you can change those borders with your own images. you can put friends and comments in separate scrolling divs (on 1.0 you could move them separately, but not so they scrolled). you can hide your entire profile with one line of code, without customizing your own profile by removing each section individually—perfect for people who make layouts for the public.

people were pleased when they found out they could replace the "blurbs" with your own image. now you can replace "blurbs," "about me," "who i'd like to meet," etc. with your own images without hiding the .orangetext15 class (since that's not even there anymore).

basically, it's more search engine friendly (perfect for companies and bands), and you can edit just about every aspect of it with CSS. honestly, i love 2.0.

*shrug

I don't really like it that much, but its not hard to learn at all. I'm messing with it now on one of my old test myspace's. I like my current layout on my regular myspace so that's why I didn't change over.

Anywho, I think once they finish working all the bugs out and finally finish the way they want people to customize them people will like it.

I think they said later next week they'll be done with it all.

i think a huge plus is the fact it re-sizes pictures to fit into the tables. now i won't go to a page and see some idiot putting a 700x500 picture in their interest section anymore with horizontal scroll bars everywhere.
