... because he has a Hasselblad! I knew he was into photography but he was, like, into photography. And now I'm determined to learn how to use it.

What's the coolest item your parents own?

2 record players, a couple of antique cameras, a wall full of LPs.. haha. They're all my dad's. I've already convinced him to will all of that to me.

My dad had an old school Hasselblad too, but it's all moldy and ish, that ish is fuunnnky. He also had all this expensive old school photography stuff but it all got stolen in California, including negatives. sad.gif

Dang. How he gon' let it get moldy? I'm examining my dad's camera and except for some scratches on the bottom and some leather (I guess that's what it is) unglued on the top, it seems to be in pretty mint condition.

Edit: He also has a fancy pants Hasselblad lens, this one:

Except my dad's is in mint condition.

And all this makes me wonder, if I got it appraised, how much would it be worth?

good thing your's is in good condition though.

ay I bet you could sell that ish for a lot of money to spend on a new camera, or you could embrace it and just use that, up to you

I'll definitely be using it. I couldn't sell it; it's like, why would you sell a Picasso? I'm gonna show this baby off.

my mom gave me an old Olympus & i've taken quite a few great pictures with it!
i just hate having to do the whole film thing.

I think I'd like film if I had a darkroom, it wasn't so expensive, and the chance for error (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, makes you meticulous) wasn't so high.
