Hi :D I'm sure a lot of people had read Speak [ http://www.amazon.com/Speak-Laurie-Halse-A...n/dp/014131088X ] and if you have, I need your help for a school project.

I was planning on creating an original book cover for the book that's WAY different from the current one that represents the book.
I'm doing it all on Photoshop/Illustrator, but I'm pretty clueless on how to design it.

So far I have the idea to:
1. [front]A lineart of a girl in sideview and maybe her mouth is somewhat opened, speech bubble coming out of it, with the word 'Speak' in it?
[back] continuation of the lineart with hair? or some really cool design and then a summary of the book surrounding that.

2. [front] Lineart again, but this time, it's her face, not sideview, and her hair is covering her eyes, with tape on her mouth that says 'Speak'
[back] Uhh.. probably just some really fancy design with a summary.

3. [front] A silhouette of a tree and things surround it that remind you of really sad things
[back] A tree that has color and life.

Idk, I think these ideas are VERY generic and expected, and I really need an A, so can anyone please help improve my lame ideas or just help me brainstorm completely new ones? Thank you. (:

A girl(head and shoulders) looking up towards a tree(blending with her hair maybe?) coming out of her head and hanging from different branches are S P E A K. I don't know how well that will translate to the back.

I like 1 & 2 from your list. There is just so much you could make for a book like Speak.
