I've recently started a layout site, and I've been searching for some good photo/graphic editing programs like Adobe PhotoShop. I can't get PhotoShop because of the price, my parents won't go for it. The two programs that alot of users are talking about are GIMP and Paint.NET. Which program is better? I really want to be able to:
create myspace/xanga layouts
make graphics[like word graphics]
and edit photos.

I'm thinking about downloading the free trial PhotoShop, but I'll need a program to use after my 30-day trial is up. What are your opinions?

I signed-up for splashup, it's not that great I don't think. It doesn't provide any tutorials on how to use the program, or anything like that. And I can't cancel my account because there's basically no link to my account.

I think you need prior knowledge on how to use Photoshop?

Oh well, it was just something I heard about. I haven't even tried it myself even though I intended to when I'm on the go.

I've tried both programs myself and GIMP is definitely better, but it all depends on how much experience you have.
