How to keep him interested?? Options

So I recently got back in touch with an old friend, we both had a rather... interesting... relationship, and things pretty much got off to a good start. We haven't seen each other in a few years so we spent a whole week catching up over email... and... well the conversation kind of died.

I don't want to loose his intrest, but I have no idea what to say next... What are some conversation starters or subjects you enjoy talking about that I may be able to use??
