What is the best place to have a Birthday Dinner and I will be turning 18. =D Any good places you went for your birthday dinner or suggestions?
And I live in California (The Bay) in case you mention a restaurant that does not exist in CA. xD I was thinking of going to one of those Japanese places where they cook food in front of you and do tricks and stuff. I thought it's pretty cool but might be really expensive. I still want to do it. I forgot what it was called though. Oh nvm. It's Benihana's and House of Genji. suggestions? |

Banana Leaf, Sushi House (Alameda, it's REALLY good), Elephant Bar, BJ's, Pasta Pomodoro, Palace Krn BBQ. You don't live in the SF area though right? Everything I named is in the SJ area. A lot of sushi places do tricks for you. My friends and I faked a birthday @ this one sushi place in SJ and they did the whole traditional celebration with drumming/tea drinking/standing up in a chair/smoke effect thing FOR FREE haha.

South Beach, Miami Umm, Thomas. I live in California. o.O Hmm.. My best friend went to the Elephant Bar for his graduation and went to BJ's for his 18th birthday (last month). Pasta pomodoro, is alright, I had it last week. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE ITALIAN FOOD. I never heard of Sushi House. I am not a fan of sushi, only cooked meat (especially salmon). Well, it doesn't have to be in the SJ area, it can be slightly farther like Benihana for example since that it's in cupertino. What sushi place was that? LOL. That's kind of cool. |

I think it was Ariake Sushi in SJ (don't go to the one in Sunnyvale!!!)
Haha Tino is a nice place. I go there often cause the city is nice in general...actually, mainly for Yogurtland. I had Pasta Pom last week too. Lol stuff gets old when everyone starts during 18 nowdays. Crepevine is really good, but it's in Burlingame. Italian food...you should try Maggiano's or Il Fornaio? Expensive but good food anyway. Palo Alto has a lotttttttttt of nice restaurants (lol rich white ppl city), you just have to find them. |

I forgot what it was called though. Oh nvm. It's Benihana's and House of Genji. That type of restaurant is called teppanyaki, just to let you know. I don't live in CA, so I can't help you out there, but I did go to an 18th at a teppanyaki restaurant. If you want something entertaining, I'd definitely recommend it. My meal there wasn't that expensive (definitely less than $10, I think around $7-$8, but this was 4 years ago), but Benihana's is probably a lot more high class and awesome compared to the place I went.

Oh, I drove by Royal Teppan Steak House while I was in Tino today. I've been to Benihana's (long ass time ago) but not this one. Hm, maybe I'll try this one out someday too. Yum I ate so much good food this summer.

I LOVE YOGURT LAND. I went there a few days ago, but it was too late. It just started to close.... haha. I love that place.
Yeah, I am not a fan of sushi stuff other than cooked ones. I might consider doing Benihanas cause it seems like a fun experience. But the reviews on yelp confuses me, some say it's good and bad. So it's hard to choose to go or not to go. Maggiano's or Il Fornaio, I never tried. Is it a nice place? |

Really? The one in Tino is gonna close...? But they're making good business...
They're expensive Italian restaurants for rich white people haha. Maggiano's is in Santana Row. |

^I think he went there late at night, they were closing for the day.
And Il Fornaio is a real nice place. Food was alright, but maybe it was just what I ordered. I probably should have tried the pasta since I heard it was good, I got some kind of chicken that came with potatoes and spinache lol. I liked Cheesecake Factory better. BJ's is pretty good too. Plus if you go there on your birthday you get a Pizookie :]. BUT if I am correct I believe they charge you for it? I went there for a friend's birthday and I think they charged him for it, just a couple bucks. And I heard Benihana's was bomb. Expensive, but a nice place with good food. |

I heard a lot of various review for Benihana's; it's either a hit or miss. Cheesecake Factory is nothing special, so many people had their birthdays there. The food is good but way overpriced. Wtf one slice of cheesecake for $6? BJ's still charges you full price for pizookies. You get a free candle though :P We always get the big pizza-sized one cause it's more worth it. Yum yum, haven't had a pizookie this summer yet.
OH and if you have eeever been on Castro St in Mountain View, they have A TON of nice cuisines there. There's Mediterranean, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Krn, Mexican, Italian, etc. Mountain View is a super nice city too. This thread makes me hungry. |

Yeah, Yogurtland was closed for the day. The one near Vallco Mall.
I had a Pizookie! It was yummy! We bought a big pizza size one and a small one for my best friend's birthday. We looked at the receipt and it looked like he was charged. We asked the waitress and she says if you look at the bottom, it was taken off due to the negative sign of the pizookie for his birthday. Hmm.. I want cheesecake factory but it's too typical. xD I checked yelps about Benihana's, people say so much good things and so much bad things. I am undecided still, lol. But I have time though. haha. Hmm Mountain View? I don't think my friends would want to drive that far hahaha. |

Oh, and you should check out Buca di Beppo (sp???). It's not too expensive and the atmosphere is really nice. I ate at the one in Campbell, but there's one in Paly and SJ. Ok I need to stop posting in this topic cause it just makes me seem like a fatty who eats at too many restaurants (which is true

LOL. I went there last week, Bucca Di Beppo. My friends and I went in to check out the menu. It was too expensive and it wasn't a special occasion, it was just to eat. So we went next door to eat BJ's, lol.
