This didn't kill my day, but I'm just so bored at school right now. I've already tried reading my econ book and even copying out my notes nicely, but it's just so borrring!! Good thing 2.5 hours have already passed and I only have 30 minutes left to waste. I wish I brought my psych book to school instead; at least that one's an interesting read.

^ OB seems amazing to me compared to the crap I have this term. At least it's straightforward and all you really have to do is memorize. There's also a lot of overlap with Psychology so you won't be completely lost. I can't guarantee that you won't be terribly bored though.
When you're learning it though, I just feel like...wtf. Why am I learning this concept in terms of a theory, when I know from years of personal experience that this is true!? They make things overcomplicated and I feel like it's memorization for the sake of memorization. Are your exams all M/C? |

^ Nope, a mix of MC and short-answer questions.
I just got through the first page and it's all "why should you study OB?" crap. Since pretty much all my courses this semester kind of have to do with the way people think and why they act the way they do, I'm kind of worried I'm going to mix all the concepts up. Hopefully they'll all be similar enough to help me (and not totally different concepts!!), but what if they're not??!! |

The OB concepts have slightly different names than the Psychology ones but they're totally related. You'll probably learn soon how different subjects (Psychology, Sociology, Political Sciences, etc) relate to different parts of OB. I don't think mixing concepts up will be a problem, if anything it'll help you relate things better and remember them better.
Short answer, poo. UBC Commerce must be pretty lazy because all my exams were MC (and it's OB, so you can totally not study, just purely guess and still pass). We had a few dumb projects worth a lot of marks though. =_= |
