I like the colors of the first one, but like Thomas, I don't like the credit lines (either of them) or the "Coming soon" line.
The second one seems alright, although I would suggest changing "lyts" to a different (preferably serif) font. You have two extremely stylized fonts right next to each other, so it's a little.... much. I'm kind of wondering about all that blank space on the bottom, too. |

For all of the fonts, I would suggest serif fonts like Times, Georgia, Palatino, Californian, Centaur, Cambria, Perpetua............ I know they're not the prettiest of fonts, but sometimes you need something simple to balance out the other stuff (as in the second banner), and also you don't want your credit to take away from the overall graphic, so it's best to make it unobtrusive in both positioning and font choice. That said, I think you should move the credit to the very bottom right corner (just a couple of pixels off the bottom and right edges), and make the font smaller (but still readable).
As for the empty space, it's really up to you. It seems like you have some kind of grunge/aged look going on, so maybe follow through with that? I'm sorry, I'm really not good at these style of graphics. >_< |

Banner A & B need a little more touchups with brushes.

your color combos are great, but you should try something with your text, like make its stand out instead of just slapping it on there. also theres a lot of blank space, maybe resize the image?

The first is my favourite, but like everyone else don't like the credit or the "coming soon." Personally, I don't think you should even have a copyright line on the banner itself; if anyone wants to steal the banner, then they'll be stealing the "Stiletto Lyts" as well.
I'm not sure about the little coloured speckles, though. It seems so...fruity. Also, the fonts aren't necessarily bad, but it looks like they're just floating there. I would probably overlay them onto the background and blend them in a little more. |

I love the color scheme in the first one, but the fonts are a bit, well, random? They don't really flow or match. I don't really like hot LYTS is written. I really like how it looks though, &the colors. Playing around with the fonts would make it look MUCH better.

I think what they meant by 'overlay' and 'blend' was to not make the fonts stand out so much. They're kinda just OUT THERE, first thing someone sees and practically the only thing that they do see. You can try changing the colors, lowering the opacity, and maybe changing the layer modes to 'Soft Light', 'Overlay', or 'Multiply'. Those normally will give good effects.
Uhm, but other than that, I pretty much agree with what everyone else said. |

have no idea what overlay & blend is. ha, im an idiot. examples of this? I mean overlay text like this: ![]() It gives it more of a textured feel, instead of being so flat and in-your-face. Are you using Photoshop? In the layers tab, there's a drop-down menu with all sorts of effects you can use. |

They're ok, I guess. There's not really much to them. They just look like textures with a couple brushes tacked on.

Well, don't post in the Showcase Booth if you can't take criticism...or have somewhat mature responses.
