Top Three
Maxine (Comptine), we love your eye for subtle details. You put together a look we thought sophisticated and professional. Jenny (Jennypie), your choice of a bright yellow blouse and and fantastic pleated skirt created a classic, but bold, look. The accessories you picked were spot on as well. We didn't like your choice of jacket though. So boring in comparison with the rest of your look. Overall, fantastic look and your write up was awesome. Mel (towntown2), your outfit is a great mix of classic -- with a simple, tailored shift dress and beige trench -- and bold -- with the pumps. Your bag threw us off a bit, though. We appreciate the color, but we though the style clashed with the rest of your outfit. Bottom Two your choice was appropriate but you didn't really put forth much effort. You picked out an already put together suit. How does that show your creativity? We also thought the sunglasses and the briefcase full of cash was completely unnecessary and tacky. Thomas, you tried to do too much. There's so much going on with all the textures and patterns. You want to wow people, not confuse them. Together, the whole look comes off as tacky. Also, you picked out a cable knit blazer -- which was an interesting choice -- but where is the shirt? So who's out? we are sorry but you have been cut. At least Thomas tried. Thomas (divergent) Arjuna (ArjunaCapulong) Maxine (Comptine) Sonja (stormbringer) Lea (angelrevelation) Alex (coconutter) carolannexbh (Carolanne) Mel (towntown2) Elizabete (temptedeli) Jenny (Jennypie) Victoria (Tori-Ann) Theme Announcement Remaining contestants, your theme for this round is denim. Dress them up, dress them down, in a variety of colors, cuts, and styles, jeans are infinitely versatile. Put together your best jean look. If you need a refresher on the rules, check out this thread. All submissions must be PM'ed to me by February 17th. Submissions Thomas (divergent) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6611903 Arjuna (ArjunaCapulong) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6705453 "Aight so the denim BBC jeans is pretty self-explanatory (GET MONEY, F*CK BITCHES on the pockets). Yo, but check it, that's some DENIM/LEATHER KICKS, gat dayum is that even possible!? I also chose a blazer (so it's smart but not too formal; so it's like class without the ass) and a white dress shirt meant to be worn leisure suit style like Scarface so you know you don't mess with this ninja or he'll go Chris Brown on ya. Oh and that necklace is supposed to bring attention below the neck and balance or some ish since there's no tie. I'd never be able to afford that watch, but sho'nuff it helps emphasize the blacks and whites. Just like dem shades, which is makin' the ninja who's wearing this a little more unique than the rest. Oh snap dem kicks is made out of denim saywhat." Maxine (Comptine) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6632334 Lea (angelrevelation) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/denim_for_cbs_last.../set?id=6507841 I was a bit inspired by Rachel Bilson, and just kind of upscale-casualness. A lot of denim can look tough very easily, so I chose different shades of denim for contrast and fancy pieces to make it more girly. The loose shirt and flats keep it casual. (Ignore the shoes that come with the jeans). Alex (coconutter) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/denim_delight/set?id=6609225 First, I started off by finding a main body piece made of denim. When I found this dress I thought it was perfect and got the point across. Then I found the purse and thought it went along with the playfulness of the dress. The colours chosen for shoes, shirt(which goes under the dress), and jewelry went along with the dots in the purse. The earrings are also made of recycled denim. carolannexbh (Carolanne) MIA Mel (towntown2) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/the_great_weekender/set?id=6429758 I kept the top and leather jacket streamlined so that the clutch and the shoes can speak for themselves. The necklace and the headband are also kept at a minimum so as to amplify the clutch and shoes. In this look, I chose to downplay the denim and make it a blended part of the look, not its focal point. Elizabete (temptedeli) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cbc2/set?id=6568148 Yeah, i decided to do a men's outfit. you don't have to be a guy to know what looks good or not. Jenny (Jennypie) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/denim/set?id=6468897 On Denim: To me, denim is a staple in a woman's wardrobe and she must possess at least one pair that does wonders for her behind. The pair should be versatile, have clean lines, a beautiful wash, and superior fit but at the same time should not so much be noticed as a piece of its own but rather make the woman feel and look more confident and put together. I've chosen to build my outfit around a pair of Earnest Sewn straight leg jeans. My personal favourite denim label (and cut), the pockets of these jeans remain anonymous and the fit is one of the best I have tried. A tough, super-hot and well-fitted leather jacket on top is paired with a soft purple silk top and solid but girly accessories as to maintain feminine appeal. The high heel and subtle hardware in the shoe balance out its toughness and the red scarf adds a pop of colour against the gold and black. The Balenciaga handbag adds the perfect amount of city-chic to complete the outfit. Sonja and Victoria have dropped out; haven't heard from Arjuna and Carolanne. If you guys are still participating, please submit an outfit ASAP. This post has been edited by batman: Feb 3 2010, 01:58 PM |
