Guitars =D, anyone play?

i tried to look for a topic like this...didnt quite find any so if there is...my apologies.

Any guy or girl here know how to play guitar? Im teaching myself and it would help if i had a person to teach or at least give me tips on techniques (palm mutes)

i'm a guy. i play guitar. been playing for 3 years and i rock.

how do you need help with palm mutes? just rest your hand on the strings while plucking. not, like, your whole hand but the end of it, like, below your pinkey.

thats awesome guys ...my uncle gave me a CF Martin LXM Acoustic (*drool*) for christmas. I've been playing since January, i spent a week and a half tuning it, but hey i learned it and im pretty good at tuning now. Been about 7 months and im not that great either. Im planning to get a yamaha jasmine. I recently tried to play Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box, i can play the intro perfect, chorus...a little edgy on the bend. Honestly im not even sure how to do it xD.

yeah thats how you pretty much do it just make sure that you dont press hard and let your hand rest on it to give it the good mute

bah, palm muting. you make me laugh, amaetur stuff. its all about the harmonics. i play guitar. i have an ibanez AK-85. been playing for like 8 months taught myself. everyone says they think i've been playing my whole life.

if you need any help theres a forum place in mxtabs.net something called like musicians forums where all they discuss there is music, and instruments. bet you have a better time learning guitar there than speaking to a bunch of amaeturs like us here.

I have a guitar. Not so good at playin though. Tryin to learn.. getting too distracted.

I managed 1 Nirvana song and Horse With No Name. Um.. and Wipeout. Not very good at any of em though. I think I'm better off with drums or keyboard. ermm.gif

i just got a squier bullet strat but i dont know how to play it yet. too lazy to go to the music store to get some picks and a book on how to play it lol

yeah i play the guitar..i actually started about 3 weeks ago by teaching myself...it's not that hard really! umm i suggest you play plucking songs instead of chords...cuz there easier...like play sick cycle carousel by lifehouse...it was my first song and it songs great! oh and learn how to read guitar tabs because there so much easier than having a list of chords! happy strumming! happy.gif
