how do you make a border around font |

i looked at many of your' sigs/avatars/buttons and then it hit me: many of them have a border around the font. i need help. what font/filter? is that?

if u use adobe.. right click on the text layer and go to blending options. then go to stroke and thats it.

what sucks for me is i dont have photoshop of psp i have to put the font in pixel by pixel lol
 .

on psp..after you create some text do not defloat it. copy it, then go to selections>expand>1px. then floodfill it with whatever border colour you want and paste the text over it.. centered.
