Well. I like him how he is, even though he has baggy pants that fall off without belts and XXL shirts... (the exact things i hate about guys' clothes)... but I want to change his style a bit for his own sake.
Right now, his clothes consist of boring non interesting or cute XXXXXXXL shirts, XXXXXXXXXL Jeans or jean shorts or basketball shorts, white tube socks, and chinese ripoff 5 dollar shoes that are twice his feets' size. i dont know how or what to change. but i want skinnier jeans (not skinny jeans... he's kinda... like... 5'7 and 170lbs including the fact that hes muscle-y with a little blubber) so that they dont fall down. and more nice looking shirts. Cuz right now, he looks shorter and stockier than he is.
P.S. I'm not really Changing my bf because i dont like him the way he is. He is also aware of his non-fashionable-ness and wants to change it. I think a sporty prep california's asian look would be okay for him. he also has glasses and a bowl cutty cut. ... his parents... dont ask. XD

Any suggestions of "wear" to start?

I wish i could expand my gf's clothes... she a babyphat//ecko kinda girl. Anti preppy but not ghetto to the point where she looks like a tom-boy

ANYWAYS ONTOPIC
I'll give my style.. maybe you'll like it.
for shirts and what not. PacSun is a good place to start, though its kinda pricey, Get him sum Polos from Lacoste or Ralph Lauren they usually go for $25-$65... light skin? get him dark color polos. dark skin? get him light color polos. but it doesnt matter too much. I wear both light and dark color polos. Quicksilver has nice shirts too =]
for jeans... I'd go with aeropostale... or old navy...
Prefably get boot cut jeans thats what I rock. The fadded jean look will look nice.
Please get him a belt it doesnt have to be a nice one. just a belt to hold his pants up. hes 170.. he'll fit with a 34 or 36 size belt.... to start off... for the shoes? White Nike Aire force ones(Low Style) would be nice to start with or sum puma's. Try not to go into the shoehead hype.. its expensive...
if you wanna go all out prep sporty look. shit, just go to holister.. Im not really a fan of them though.
Does he wear hats? Fitted hats would go nice with the clothes if it matches.
IM me if u wanna talk about it more. I can go on for days

I wouldn't change my boyfriend's clothes.

I plan on stealing a few articles of his clothing, actually.

A shirt.
Sweater.
Fedora.

And a pair of his boxers, because he said he'd steal my bra. >/
