Well...thats the law. I don't really feel much sympathy for you there. I drive the speed limit most of the time and if anything 5 over. But there are a lot of cops who are very anal if you don'tgo the limit. The cops where i live are anal to teens who go 2 over the limit. Its ridiculous but i don't feel like getting a ticket so i will go the limit if i hae to.

Now if it was going under then i would understand.

My roommate. I hope I have a better one in the fall. Unless I make friends with someone that I can live with, I'm getting a single dorm in junior and senior year even if it costs more.

She stays up until 2-3AM or later watching shows on her laptop, and she doesn't lower the volume or use headphones.

I played K-pop loudly, so she probably had trouble hearing her show. I share a double room with her with nothing to close off my side from hers.

I've thought about throwing her laptop out the window, but I've decided that it would be in my best interests if I didn't. I figure that I'll ask her to use headphones if she's going to stay up past 2AM the week before and of finals.

The fact that donut shops close in the early afternoon. It doesn't help that they ALL close before 3pm either. You'd think that ONE would take advantage of the market past 3pm when all the other shops have closed and gone home.

The whole "we're roommates but that doesn't mean we're friends so our entire kitchen has to be divided into my side/your side sections. this includes the fridge, counter/cabinet space, and sink. yes. the sink." thing. THE HELL, we were friends before we were roommates. Doesn't that mean we're friends after?

OH. AND ON THAT NOTE. DIRTY DISHES. GO. IN. THE. LEFT.

None of this "my dirty dishes go in the left and yours go in the right, right on top of the garbage disposal" shit. Then what happens if I come in with a plate I need to rinse off and you have my shit piled right in the way? It doesn't matter who does what or what goes where, for god's sake it's not gonna kill you if I wash your dishes just ONCE. Or if I have a couple plates on the left side of the sink and you put yours on top of them. Please. The right side of the sink stays empty. That's just how it works. Dishes pile up when they go on the right side, but if that side is kept clear I can keep them under control. This one thing is ruining our relationship.

..actually, it's not just that. It's also the fact that she thinks keeping the thermostat at 80 degrees will save us on our electricity bill. Shit, just turn it off. It'd be cooler in here if she did that. But no, I come in the living room and turn it down to like 73 just so I won't wake up sweating in the middle of the night, and if I come back five minutes later she's turned it back up again. I have to wait until she's asleep just so I can make it BEARABLE, then I wake up before her and change it back so she doesn't get all pissed off.

Also, she talks shit about me at least once a day to at least three people I know. Probably more. One of them is a good friend. The other is my boyfriend's ex.

Yeah, I'm not surprised she left me a note the other day telling me she's leaving for a single-bedroom apartment after this month. Good riddance. And this one pet peeve has made me realize that I can list off a TON of pet peeves and most of them have to do with her.. Like how when I walk in the bathroom after she takes a shower the floor is always soaking wet. And how she always parks in our space (we only get one) during the day when there's TONS of guest parking right by our apartment. Then when I get off work late at night I get home and there's no parking close to the door so I have to park farther away, then walk alone to my apartment.

I honestly can't think of any that don't involve her right now. This thread has made me realize that I really can't stand this girl. Wow.

I had four roommates. One was cooperative, the other's always trashed the place and I always had to bitch to get them to clean. When everyone was gone for the weekend (happened sometimes) the last person would always leave the AC on 60. 60 for when it's 90 outside, kinda runs up the bill. One roommate would always go to class, lock his door, and leave his music on loud and I could never study with that shit. One would always go out for food and then leave his bags / trash all over the kitchen counter. One would cut his own hair in his sink and never EVER clean up the hair. It was disgusting, hair would cover his entire sink. The dorm was split in two so it was me and my roommate on one side, two rooms one bathroom. The other two were ont he other side, two rooms one bath. The middle was the common area and they'd always leave so much shit all over. They did not know how to clean up or lock the door when they left. Oh wells moving back home now 30 mile commute is less stressful than dealing with those roommates + it saves $560 a month.

Were you close before you decided to live together? I've heard that it's not the best idea to move in with a close/best friend because you'll end up hating each other and ruining your friendship.

Here, there are triple rooms and either two or three students living in them. I couldn't stand to live with four other people, no matter how good they were as roommates, because I need a certain amount of solitude every day. I've enjoyed meeting so many new people these past two weeks, both at Ithaca and in Los Angeles, but I feel a bit overwhelmed and just need to chill out by myself at night.

Sixty degrees, really? I get cold when the AC is below 67-68 degrees, since I like for it to be room temperature when it's hot in the summer. That's disgusting about your roommate's hair; I hate it when other girls on my floor leave their hair in the shower stalls (I mean, how hard is it to pick it up after you wash your hair? I don't need to see clumps of hair clogging the drain). You couldn't complain to your RA about your crappy roommates?

^I'll bet he doesn't live in the dorms. Like.. my roommate and I split rent in an apartment off-campus.

Technically she did NOT like me when I first transferred to Henderson. At all. We both play the flute and it was just sorta tense. Then when I realized this was not just gonna go away, I started being really nice to her in hopes of finding some middle ground. At least being able to be in the same room with her or something. We sort of bonded over her almost getting kicked out of band and me standing up for her. And then we became pretty decent friends.

..and then I started dating her best friend's ex. Which she seemed to be okay with at first, until her best friend started to be not okay with it. And now things are very weird.

Nah I live on campus in an "Apartment Styled Suite." We have RAs, but they don't really give a f*ck. They just inform us of shit that's happening and drop off our bills. It's no matter, I'm moving back home now since the semester's over and I'm just going to commute for summer school / the rest of the school year. If we turned the AC off here, it would be blazing hot. There's a reason Houston's the most air conditioned city in the nation.
