you know how those kids cry to news stations because they're made fun of on the internet? do you ever think about hearing your not-so-nice post being read aloud on the news when someone here goes overboard and thinks media attention is the solution to not having the balls to stand up for themselves?

I would have thought going to a news station and having the post in question read out, so as to make the general populace assume the person who wrote it was a malicious prick who tries to bully people on an internet forum was a fairly effective way of sticking up for yourself. Or at least, it would amuse me.
But no, I'm generally unconcerned about what I write here appearing on the news, as one would hope that there will never be THAT slow of a news day. |

Unless it was part of a comedy sketch, I can't even imagine someone doing this. That's like something I'd hear on the Phil Hendrie show or something. The thought of anything I'd post being read on air has never occurred to me. I pity the network that hard up for content. |

idk, i just sometimes think about how harmless a lot of stuff is until someone kills themselves and the quotes are taken way out of context. i'm like, "i wonder how this can be blown up?"

I suppose, but you really have to think about what else is going on in someone's life that they would have such a reaction. While perhaps something read in a forum could be seen as a catalyst, more than likely it isn't the entire problem or reason why someone would jump off the handle like that. So while I like it when I see people act kindly towards each other, I certainly wouldn't impose responsbility for someone's act of desperation on a forum poster. |

Kids being bullied and kids killing themselves because they're being bullied isn't anything new. It's just that with the internet there's more proof of who was bullying the kid and I guess news feels like sharing it with the rest of the world.
