Because it is HIS site. We need him to do certain things to make the site better.
what's ridiculous is the amount of money he spends on this site...to just leave it sitting.

I wouldn't go that far Prince. I just think that he needs to have more input on things, and have more of a presence around here.

Prince, I liked it better when you typed normally in this thread. It was easier to take your seriously.

I agree with Javonn that Jusun's presence is important in keeping this forum alive. I mean, what's with the whole arcade thing? From what I hear, it's been in construction for quite some time...

But maybe Jusun has decided that the forum can go on fine without him, and decided to focus more of his time on other things.

If this is the case, then he needs somebody like Trish, who can really put things into motion without his watching over them.

I agree with Cristy, to a certain extent. I don't think it's sugar-coating to suggest that some of the problem lies with the 'veterans', in fact quite the opposite. It's simply true that many older members, disatisfied about the current state of cB, have turned to complainig about the changes since the old days, bashing newbies (which DOES happen quite a lot, for whatever reason), and turning to in-jokes for entertainment, which are largely, if not entirely impenetrable to many newer members. I don't think the change in cB can be blame entirely on the people who DON'T post, is what I'm saying.

However, I do very much agree with Javonn that ther is an issue here, but I don't think this thread is any kind of help, other than maybe venting some frustrations. This kind of sentiment has been expressed with increasing frequency for the last 18 months or so, with little effect, mainly because people haven't actually doen anything other than express their sentiments, which is fine, but at some point you have to man up and deal. Be the change you want to see in cB, because, unfotunately, the old members AREN'T COMING BACK. So make new ones feel welcome, and build cB back up to a new place. Unless you do that, then this thread is going to be just another pointless waste of time.

Also, yes, the Jusun issue is a major problem at this point. He doesn't need to be here 24/7, but we need some kind of system where we can at least keep things going from the technical view point. And, yes, get th flipping arcade up.

You would be a good person to write those boring monotone speeches that people phase out.

i agree with both sides of the newbie/vetran thing. i don't think the new people who are coming are all that interesting, but i also think the regular/older members in general have a bad attitude 85% of the time.

as far as jusun, i think he would be useful for technical kinda stuff. i duno, i'm probably the only one who thinks jusun isn't all that important. if it wasn't a technically issue, then i actually never really cared for his input. he usually had no basis for his opinion in the first place since he's never here to know the full extent of anything. i don't think the forums need him as much as they just need good content and interested members.

There's a lot of money in that, so yippee. And frankly, whether or not the speech is boring doesn't change whether or not the content is accurate, so whatever. Most speeches are boring on paper anyway. All in the oratory.

They might be more interesting if they could engage more easily with the general flow of posting. But yeah, I see what you're saying.

And I agree with your thoughts on Jusun, because I've never been one to actively solicit his opinions, but we DO need the technical stuff. If he wants to hand over the responsibilty to someone with more time/commitment, that's cool too, but right now we have a long ass to-do list.

Wait. I remember there was like a whole month period where there was like barely any drama/bashing around the forums, and people started complaining about how dull and boring the forums were because everything was all monotone and "nice."

So now that the bashing and flaming is increasing again, people are complaining about it? What do you people want? _unsure.gif

Actually, a valid question.

he biggest part of the problem is that there is no definable solution, wichis why it falls to the people who are here to try and broaden the community/ We'll probably know what we want whe we see it.

That said, you can't please everyone, and trying will likely lead to some kind of madness.

I agree with this post as well as James. While I also agree that Jusun isn't all that important, I do agree that he needs to be here for certain things. If not then hand the reigns over to someone who can properly maintain/add to the site ala Trish.
