hide underline under link that appears when hovered and change color of link when hovered?, please help :) Options

[sarahann]

how do I get rid of that underline that appears under a link(the one myspace installs itself.) also, when a link is hovered, how do i get the font color to change to another color? thanks!

[Mickey]

Try this code:

CODE

<style>
a:hover {text-decoration:none; color:000000;}
</style>

Just change 000000 to a different hex code of your choosing.

^you're fast and good at helping people.
lmfao, you beat me at it every time.

[sarahann]

thanks. it got rid of the underline, but it wont change the text color when hovered.

[Mickey]

Have you changed 000000 to a different hex code? If you have and it still doesn't work, then maybe another code is clashing with the one I posted. Do you mind posting your profile and/or the codes you're using?

[tokyo-rose]

Do you mind posting your profile and/or the codes you're using?

You are actually supposed to, as the guidelines at the top of each support forum page say. Please do that when creating new help topics. :)

[sarahann]

sure :)
heres the codes(i hope they dont mess up like last time i posted codes lol):

oh btw, on the code you gave me, i did put the entire code with a diff hex code, but since it wouldnt work, i removed the color part until i could figure out how to make it work.

and ok Nat, thanks!

Reason for edit: it's "[codebox]" not "[code]" :) -nat

[Mickey]

Before I help you, could you either make your profile public or tell me which links you want to change the color of? That'd really help.

[sarahann]

it should be public now.

www.myspace.com/sarahann324 in case you need it

i would like all the word links(like the blogs, cmnt, voice cmnt, etc) to change colors when hovered on.

[Mickey]

Try this code out:

CODE

<style>
a:hover, a.navbar:hover, a.redlink:hover {color:ffffff;}
</style>

Remember to change ffffff to a hex code of your own choice.

Wait, scratch that. You put a code on those links you're talking about so the codes you have and the codes I gave you are clashing. What you need to do is look for this in all of your link codes:

CODE

style="font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:dashed;"

And replace that code with this:

CODE

class="navi"

Then, put this in your Who I'd Like To Meet:

CODE

<style>
a.navi:link, a.navi:active, a.navi:visited {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:dashed;}
a.navi:hover {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:white; text-transform:dashed;}
</style>

Change white to the hex code of your choice. See if that works.

[sarahann]

okay, it worked great except it isn't making the links the blue color i had them before i hover on them.

[Mickey]

Replace this code:

CODE

<style>
a.navi:link, a.navi:active, a.navi:visited {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:dashed;}
a.navi:hover {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:white; text-transform:dashed;}
</style>

with this:

CODE

<style>
a:link, a:active, a:visited, a.navi:link, a.navi:active, a.navi:visited {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:dashed;}
a.navi:hover {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:FF6EB4; text-transform:dashed;}
</style>

[sarahann]

didnt work.

btw, thanks for all the help! :)

[Mickey]

How about this?

CODE

<style>
.navi {color:00BFFF;}
a, a:link, a:active, a:visited, a.navi:link, a.navi:active, a.navi:visited {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:;}
a:hover, a.navi:hover {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:FF6EB4; text-transform:;}
</style>

[sarahann]

nope :( maybe theres another code clashing?

[Mickey]

The links are back to blue, but it probably doesn't change to pink when you hover over it because you removed class="navi" from the link codes. Oh, and use this revised code to have other links change colors when you hover over them too:

CODE

<style>
.navi {color:00BFFF;}
a, a:link, a:active, a:visited, a.navi:link, a.navi:active, a.navi:visited {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:;}
a:hover, a.navi:hover {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:FF6EB4; text-transform:;}
</style>

[sarahann]

where exactly in the link codes do I place class="navi"?

no, it does change to pink.
its not this blue color 00BFFF i had it before though.

[Mickey]

Here, I did it for you. Just look for this in your codes:

CODE

And it actually works fine now but do that anyway, just in case.

[sarahann]

thanks.

it doesnt work in IE... are you using FF?

[sarahann]

It didn't work.

And I can't switch to FF right now.

[Mickey]

I don't know why it's not working on IE. It should work since you have this code already:

CODE

<style>
.navi {color:00BFFF;}
a, a:link, a:active, a:visited, a.navi:link, a.navi:active, a.navi:visited {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:00BFFF; text-transform:;}
a:hover, a.navi:hover {font-size:10px; font-family:georgia; color:FF6EB4; text-transform:;}
</style>

Are you sure you're doing the class="navi" thing that I'm telling you about? Because I keep scanning your codes and they still don't have that.

And why can't you switch to FF?
