Haha well I just grabbed a comment box code from a myspace site like this & altered it to fit your page.
The space at the bottom fixed itself, I don't know how but I was like "well, that's one less thing for me to do!"
To have your nav bar running across the page instead of down you have to take down the <br>s in b/w the links and just put a space there instead.
Your nav box was really screwed up. This is the code you posted originally:

Yeah, just like you put a space between words in a sentence. It's the same with links. Just put in the <a href="LINKHERE">BLAH</a> code as you would with words.

actually, since browsers reduce multiple spaces to one, you should add a class and set a margin for the right and left.
