A border around the top left and bottom right corners of the content area maybe? i don't know what else could be done.
Nice layout.
It is a bit plain though

I think it'd be cool if you put two smaller boxes in the tree limbs. shrug.gif
Maybe make the ornage-ish background a gradient of 2 colors going up & down. Or a blue background with some clouds and your orange color mixed in the sky? It could look like a sunset/rise.
The layout needs a little texture, the grass could be a little more detailed.
I don't like the shadow under the red box.

I, personally, don't care for the placement of the content. I would have put more than one box in the green area and below. It looks like you took the image and then just plopped a red box on it. Maybe work on finding a way to make the content look like part of the layout, rather than a distraction. Also, I agree about the image quality.

hmmmm, maybe you can put the nav sitting on the ground on the left side of the tree OR under the content box. you should try to blend the content box more into the background though, so it doesn't look like you just put a box on a graphic.

I think instead of having a content box, you should make the layout vertically scroll... like this sorta...
