Yeah, so as you can probably tell, I may go out with someone two years younger than me (a guy). Do you think that's odd or does it not matter to you how old someone is?

Honestly I really don't care, but like most people, I care what others think (what kind of curse is this?). It won't matter much because he is taller than me (waaay taller) and he's a very mature guy, but when the parentals ask me how old he is... ummm... Yeah.

So tell me, what do you guys think? mellow.gif

It isn't weird. Age is just a number. If you get along well, and he's very mature for his age, then it doesn't matter.

Why do you give a shit what other people think of your relationship, something that only matters to you and the other person? If the basis of your relationship is going to be founded on what other people think, and what stigmas may come along with it, you will never be happy. How retarded.

The end.

First off, you shouldn't let anyone stand in the way of what you want. You alone control what you do. Now, if you're young (say thirteen), and the guy you're thinking of dating is eleven, then you may want to rethink the situation. Kid's that young shouldn't be dating anyway.

There are girls in my class who are dating seniors and vis versa. There is nothing wrong in having a relationship with someone younger, especially if you're both emotionally mature enough to handle the situations that may arise (i.e. your parents asking how old he is).

Who gives a shit how old he is? For the record, I never got ages for the both of you. If you are that concerned with what people are going to think about you, then you definitely have trouble. I wish people would really stop being so emo and caring about what people think. Seriously, if you are happy, and he is happy, then that is all that should matter.

Uh who cares? I don't. I'm not being mean, I'm just saying it doesn't matter. I'm not giving you that 'age is nothing' crap but if people are gonna stand in your way, who are they to judge? They'd be idiots.

everyone is different! i have a friend who doesn't HAVE to date younger guys but it seems she always does.

i on the other hand like guys that are my age or a little bit older. i personally couldn't date younger guys.

BUT i don't find anything wrong with it either. i mean some younger guys are very mature for their age.

just keep it legal!

It's just because you're young that people think age matters. Once you get like 25+ people tend to date people younger than them all the time. It makes no difference then because "they're older." You should just have that mentality. If you like him go for it. If you think his age is more important than him and his personality, than don't date him , he shouldn't have to date someone who thinks that anyway. *shrugs*

Personally, I wouldn't. Unless the guy happened to be really mature for his age.

But really, who cares what people think? Two years isn't that big of a difference.

It really shouldn't matter too much. However, if I was a 14 year old, I wouldn't want to be dating someone who was 12. But when you're like, 16, it doesn't make as much of a difference.

I wouldn't do it.

I was always raised that when you start dating you should date someone that is at least 2-5 years older than you. Girls mature quicker than guys and if you find them that much older then usually the maturity level will be around the same.

So yea..

I won't date a younger chick, unless she absolutely blows me away. I have had a bad streak with younger chicks as of late. I want somebody that is like 25!

If he acts mature then go for it! If he acts like his age then ditch him! Don't let yourself get hurt.

Age is nothing. However, if you're more mature than him, that should be worrying :)
