it's totally time i should put this on here since i've been working on it for almost a month.
i'm kinda looking for the good, the bad and the ugly and every harsh piece of criticism you throw at me. i want to cry.

so...if you have any suggestions, bashing or praises to make it better, i'm all eyes. thanks =)

I like the overall look so far. Being the easily amused person I am, I get a kick out of hovering the "charity: water" and Social Vibe things on the bottom. xD I think the the little pink links under the main navigation at the top could use some sprucing up, something to bring more attention to them.

I kind of feel like something should go on the sides since all the whiteness is so blank..I'm just not sure what.

I really love the simplicity and colour scheme! But I do agree with Cristy that the pink links need to pop out some more.

I actually like this!
The black and pink look pretty cool!
The only thing i don't really like too much is the rollovers on the "Charity: Water" and "SocialVibe" images, but everything else is awesome!

'Scuse me while I say that the colors are a bit cliche, in my opinion. But I think the overall design is executed well. In my browser (using Mozilla) the top left corner's fixtatik and css for charity banners have a light grey background.

I really like the simplicity and arrangement. Well, I really just like everything about your site. The fact that you give part of your earnings to charity is fantastic. I think I might even donate with your whole "pixel adoption" thing. happy.gif

i did the "cliché" colors just because all the random color palettes that are popping up on personal websites are becoming cliché. i'm thinking about changing them in the near future, though.

the grey background problem is probably because your browser doesn't support transitional transparency in PNG images. i need to fix that; anything before IE 6 doesn't support it.

Which browser(s) did you code your layout for? I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3 and see no gray backgrounds.

i coded for modern browsers, but for the most part it supports older versions, too. the problem she's having with the grey background is just what happens in browsers that don't support PNG transparency.

netscape 6+, opera 6+, mozilla 1+, all firefox versions & internet explorer 7+ on windows support transparency. on macs, internet explorer 5+, netscape 6+, opera 5+, mozilla 1+, all firefox & camino versions, omniweb 3.1+ and icab 1.9 support it. anything older than those, transparent PNG images will, instead of showing nothing, will show a grey or light blue color.

Very simple, but in a good way. I love the design; it's sleek and looks really cool with the snatches of pink here and there. I also like the rollovers for the bottom two banner links (I get addicted to rollovers really easily).

I'm kind of confused as to why Div Layouts, "Default" Layouts, The Adoption Center, and Affiliates don't have their own block links, like the links above them. I think the layouts could go under "Resources" or "Downloads" or something, Affiliates under some kind of site heading (maybe grouped with site history, etc.?), and Adoption Center could have its own big link. I dunno, maybe I just like stuff grouped into neat categories. shrug.gif I'm kind of OCD about that.

The pixels in the Adoption Center are really cute. :]

the div & default layouts already are under resources (in the myspace section). i put them in the main navigation as well because they're the two most popular pages. the adoption center & affiliates are there because they're the two pages i want to promote most at the moment. i don't think i can make a "site history" page as i don't have a site history (it's been open since june 1st).

what do you mean by the adoption center having its own big link? there's a big link for it on the home page. do you mean putting the adoption center on the top navigation with the white / grey links? i tried something like that at first--it just seems way too cluttered when the links get too close to the logo.

Oh, I think I got confused because you have two links to the adoption center, the banner one and the text one. Or had? I don't see the text one anymore. Hmm.

I like the new dropdown navigation for the resources. If you want div layouts and default layouts to stand out, maybe you could bold them in the dropdown menu?

I like your New York, NY layout, by the way (the black and white and red one?). :]

cool idea, but not a very effective one. people are heartless to no even donate a $5 bill to someone who walks 5 miles to get a cup of muddy water.

aww, thanks guys =)
they all say new york, ny in the title, though. that one's just..."#8." ha. i have such a problem giving actual titles to layouts, so have the time when i submit them on cB, the titles don't make any sense.

maybe i'll just start giving them really pointless names, so people will be like, "WTF is up with that name?! i don't get it!"

I like it, but there are some things I would change...

I think the navigation would be nicer if the hover would be
PINK and not black because I think it's not striking enough.

And what really is to big is this socialVIBE and and charity:water,
the boxes around it are way too BIG, they kill your head and navi-part!

but mostly I like it...sleek and not overcrowded!!
GOOD WORK!!

hm...don't they hover pink? it looks pink to me =/

as for the big links at the bottom, they're supposed to be big because i'm trying to attract attention to them. originally when i made the site, i had a leader board banner smack under the header. it was big and unsightly. i got rid of it completely, with only advertisements on the layout previews, but i saw a serious drop in clicks (of course). this site is my job, so i can't afford to not have advertisements right now.

my point is, the advertisement right now is in a highly viewed place (right under the navigation). the charity: water and socialvibe banners are so big because i'd rather people look at those first than look at the advertisement. if people want to click the ads, they will. i won't force that upon them. the big banners are at the bottom, because that does force people to look at the rest of the page first (namely the adoption center, which i'm really looking to promote heavily).

if you have another suggestion as to how i could promote all three (adoptions, charity:, and socialvibe) better, i'm all ears.
