Creating a Event Calendar, Assistance with Creation of Calendar Idea Options

I'm interested in making a event calendar for myspace/other websites.
However, im not sure if i can just do it with graphics and roll overs.
I've seen alot of simple ones like :

but you cannot add events.
I'd like some assistance creating one or possibly if someone has one already. Maybe they can give me a link.
Or maybe someone can break down the IDEA code requirements.
Am i going to need to learn PHP or CSS
cause im kinda stuck on how to go about the creation.

You will need to learn PHP and CSS.

And that was done in adobe flash, so you're also going to need actionscript.

the best way to do it (not for myspace) would be with javascript. there's a decent article explaining this on devx.

on myspace, the only way would be to do it with flash, which requires actionscript as XTC said, which is a little more complicated. or you could simply use myspace's built-in calendar.
