i've spent almost an hour trying to get the plastic off my newly purchased dvd...why do they make it so damn hard?

is there a research facility somewhere in the midwest that specializes in making media plastic the hardest to remove from a product?

...where is it, and how much to they pay? i need a well-paying job.

Well, to deter shoplifters that try to "hit-n-run" using the dressing rooms, the plastic wrappers and the three super-sticky stickers that keep the case closed are made just for that. And listen the next time you open up a new DVD, it's loud, isn't it? Another device to help stop theft.

Why does the plastic company have to be in the Midwest?

Aside from that, it's really not that hard to open those. Stick a knife or a key in the corner where it's folded over. Actually, I never have any trouble opening any of that stuff and I have no nails, nor do I particularly want nails.

I usually just take the noisy plastic off and if there is only the sticky white tape along the top and bottom I'll open it and they'll usually break off.
