Ok I need some help understanding this?
Ok here is my hosts features page: http://www.hostmonster.com/hosting-features.htm As you can see they have unlimited domains, add-on domains etc and I need to know what that means? Does having unlimited add on domains mean If my domain is example.com I can add another domain like sample.com for free? Or does that mean if I had sample.com registered like at 1and1.com I could put it with my hosting account and share the disk space and bandwidth with example.com for free? I really need help with this?! And if you only want to answer the first part thats fine but could somone give a link that explains what a: add-on domain parked domain sub domain and what it means to have unlimited domain mean? Thanks! |

add-on domain: if you have another domain besides your main one, you can add that to your hosting plan. registration is not free; it's just an extra domain you can use. some hosts charge to add extra domains to accounts.
parked domain: usually something like a "coming soon" page. a lot of times parked domains are run by the host itself, and they put advertisements there and make cash off your site. parked domains are pretty much only worthwhile (you can park your own ads there if you wanted) if you no longer have a site at the domain, and it hasn't expired yet. some people actually renew domains year after year just because of the money they're making off the advertisements on a parked domain. sub-domain: site.example.com is a sub domain. sub-domains function completely as a domain in itself, but are attached to your main domain. /edit: unlimited domains means just what it sounds like: you can host as many domains as you want (provided you first register them). |

if you get a resellers account then you can give each add on or subdomain its own control panel, if you dont have resellers then your just going to be using a regualar ftp program for the extra domains

I have more than 6 sites on a single shared hosting plan. They give me a total space and bandwidth so they only care about that. They have nothing to do with my subdomains or domains because they are just web folders for them.
